Description
Record: VG
Has some light scuff marks both sides and a light scratch on side one that do not affect the play. It plays a strong VG+ and sounds great with very slight occasional noticeable surface noise. The occasional low pop.
Cover: VG
Has slight rubbing on both front and back covers. The front has 2 small tears from taking off price labels. Small cellotape section on edges of front & back cover - looks like used to keep gatefold closed by previous owner. Tape can hardly be seen. The inside gate is NM. This can all be seen in the photos. Inside gatefold NM.
Labels: NM
Very clean
Info on Star Spangled Banner (taken from Aztec Records web site)
Star Spangled Banger was a short-lived studio project that resulted in a sole self-titled album and single on the Melbourne Havoc Records label in 1973. With Havoc closing soon after its release, the album was quickly deleted and, over the years, has grown in stature, becoming one of the rarest Australian records ever. This hugely enjoyable mix of English flavored progressive rock (Family, Cressida), reflective piano ballads, with a hint of Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band like lunacy. Principal songwriter John Brownrigg (vocals, guitar), Ron Walters (vocals, piano, organ) and drummer Paul Doo formed Star Spangled Banger in 1972 from the ashes of their former band The Sect. Brownrigg originally hailed from Liverpool and had played in several bands during the Merseybeat boom of the early Sixties – as his own brick on the Cavern Club wall of fame attests. Signed to Havoc in late 1972, the band were put into the studio with engineer/producer (and soon to be Aztec) Gil Matthews.
Armed with a stack of sound effects records, the album was recorded at odd hours (in-between Matthew’s day-job at Havoc and his night-time one as new drummer for the Aztecs) and resulted in an eclectic mix of progressive rock, protest songs and ballads – with a healthy dose of humour (witness: “Fancy Underpants”!). Added to this mix are: explosions, backwards tapes, crazy keyboards, nuclear explosions, crashing aeroplanes and fuzzed out psych guitar.

My Record Grading
Mint = Vinyl that has not been played and is brand new. Cover is brand new and or sealed.
(NM) NEAR MINT = VINYL nearly perfect, no obvious signs of wear. COVER should have no creases, folds, seam splits, cut-out holes.
(VG+) VERY GOOD PLUS PLUS = VINYL may have scuff marks , very light scratches and signs of some wear but will still play almost perfectly, with only barely detectable crackles or pops; a slight noise at the beginning is allowable. COVER may only have the slightest signs of normal wear.
(VG) VERY GOOD = VINYL has light scratches, may crackle, pop or make other annoying noises, but only occasionally, and no more loudly than the music. COVER has normal wear such a ring wear and split seams , creases , wear at corners , edges & spine.
(G) GOOD = VINYL has scratches, may have continuous crackles, pops, significant surface noise. COVER has more than normal wear and tear.
(P) POOR = VINYL is cracked, badly warped, and won't play through without skipping or repeating. COVER barely keeps the lp inside. I will only sell this grading if the record has a some cultural / collectable importance. So, you will rarely see this grading.
