Description
Here we have an original copy of “Fat Peter Presents” by the Pennsylvania quartet Sweet Pants on the U.S. Barclay label from 1970. The band’s sole album, it’s featured in Hans Pokora’s 1001 Record Collector Dreams (where it gets 2 out of 6 discs for rarity) as well as the Acid Archives book. The music is underground rock with some blues, garage and psych touches -- pretty freaky stuff that's slightly reminiscent of Mary Butterworth (though without the heavily-echoed drums).
Unfortunately, the sleeve is in poor condition. As seen in the photo, there's seam splitting, flaking and mildew to both sides from water damage (I'll supply a xeroxed sleeve that's a little sturdier/nicer looking). I'll gladly provide additional images on request, but think this one tells the story -- Jacques Cousteau must've fished this one up! There is also water damage to the labels, but the vinyl itself is very nice. It's probably only been played a few times and sounds Ex to M-.
