Description
For sale here is a THE BEATLES "PLEASE PLEASE ME"
Very rare 1st Mono pressing of the album from 1963 with the 50's style BLACK and GOLD Parlophone labels
It is housed in its original 1st pressing Ernest J, Day sleeve which is in very good condition with wear and tear commensurate with age. The four corners are a little worn. The three folded sections are worn with some creasing. The spine is pretty good apart from a small tear. The front of the sleeve is still nicely laminated with 'Photo: Dick McBean' clearly shown in the bottom right hand corner which lines up perfectly with the 'S' in the word SONGS!
The Polylined 'EMITEX' inner sleeve is also original to this pressing and is in very good condition with just a little thumb wear!
The Matrix number reads as follows for side one XEX 421-1N and for side two XEX 422-1N.
The labels are in nice clean condition and have the 'Dick James' credits clearly shown. 'Lennon' is clearly shown on the last line of the label notes on side one!
There are some light surface marks to the vinyl which I would grade as very good but these do not affect the quality of the playback. There are a few minor clicks and pops between track, but it is after all vinyl!!
So! Overall, it is in very good condition considering its age with a few light surface marks. It is 47 years old!!
Catalogue Number PMC 1202
