This is an auction for The Beatles LP, Revolver.

This was released by Parlophone records in 1966 and has catalogue number PMC7009. This is a joint 1st press (not XEX6061, but released same time, with"Emitex" inner sleeve, as opposed to the 2nd press which came with a plain white sepia "LP advertising" inner sleeve) with a black and yellow label with "The Gramophone Co Ltd" and "Sold In U.K." label text. This also comes with a G & L sleeve with a small "Mono" on the front cover. Please check the pictures for clarification.

Condition: The sleeve comes in nice condition, a few small lamination creases can be seen on the front, mostly along the edges and some light discolour marks can be seen on the front and rear edges. Some of these light marks will possibly clean, also with buffing to the very corners which on the bottom mouth corner shows a tiny split on the rear, running in from the mouth, approx 1/2 inch and only seen under close examination. Otherwise its fine, spine & edges ex, no tears, bends or creases, lamination at mouth fine, flipback edges ex, no fingering indentations, nice crisp sleeve, please check the pictures and graded at a fine VG+.

This comes with its original "Emitex" inner sleeve which has a little yellowing and creasing to the corners.

Both labels are clean and look new, under a strong light a few spindle trails can be seen on side one, with little more than a few on side two. The centre hole shows a touch of wear on each side, certainly not caused by overplay, possibly a tight spindle?.

The vinyl retains its new shine and looks immaculate in normal light. Under a strong two light scratches can be seen on side one, side two is immaculate. I have of course given this a test play through both sides and was pleased to find that this plays as good as it looks.

Fisrt thing to say is that the audio is surprisingly strong for a mono recording. Nice clean entry in to side one, no noteworthy audible surface noises whatsoever. No crackles or hiss or feckling of any kind, with this playing completely clear. The above mentioned two scratches are completely non-audible and as stated superficial and only seen under close examination. Stunning quiet breaks and entries and playing with very little, if any, lessening in sound quality. This side does not suffer any reduction due to wear despite being played little more than a few times. Audio this side is comfortably near mint and is as good as you can find it.

Side 2, Is just as good, stunning quiet breaks and entries. No hiss, crackle or feckling of any kind. Strong audio and playing, like side one, with no distortion, fading or dragging heard whatsoever. Again playing at a comfortable near mint with very little, if any, lessening in sound quality.

This is graded at near mint, down-graded because its been played and does have two scratches. The audio, I would go as far to say, is mint, as I did not hear a single fault when playing it. This will be the best near mint record you will ever purchase of Ebay.

A collectors item and one I recommend, sound quality as good as you can find it or your money back, simple as that.
