This is the rare UK 1st Press of 'Rubber Soul' by The Beatles. This sensational Mono 1st press Loud Cut mix can be identified by the Mono 1/1 matrix and it features a far bolder sound and deeper grooves than the standard later press. The vinyl has a deep glossy finish, the Parlophone labels are yellow and black with a KT tax code on Side 2 and it is complete with the very earliest 'patents pending' Garrod & Lofthouse laminated flipback sleeve.
The record is in Very Good++ condition. When examined under a strong light the vinyl on each side has the most wonderful high gloss, there is no whitening of the grooves at all. There are just a few light small marks and a few light hairlines but nothing significant at all. On the turntable the record lies completely flat. The sound is wonderful, exceptionally warm, the vocals are incredibly sharp and extremely clear. There are brief moments of slight noise, but these moments are insignificant, it sounds absolutely sensational.
The yellow and black Parlophone labels are in completely clean, stunning condition. The black is exceptionally bold, and the yellow is very bright. The white text is sharp and there is only the slightest spindle wear and a couple of spider marks.
The earliest Garrod & Lofthouse flipback laminated sleeve is in Excellent condition. The laminate has a wonderful polished mirrorlike shine. The image is entirely unworn, the colours still have their bold original finish and it is completely flat. There is a little corner wear on the opening edge and a little discolouration on the back opening edge. Otherwise the back is still very bright with sharp text and unworn pictures. The flipbacks are complete, still sealed and very clean. There is a 1960s shop sticker on the bottom edge. The opening edge has the slightest wear otherwise the edges are incredibly firm and unworn. The pinched spine is sensational. It is exceptionally solid and the text is immaculate. The whole sleeve is still incredibly solid. This is a fantastic example of this rare and earliest Beatles 'Rubber Soul' press.
