WOW!! WOW!! WOW!!! MEGARARE and extremely Hard-To-Find original High Fidelity MONO VERY FIRST PRESS released in Chile in 1965 by Industrias Eléctricas Y Musicales Odeon, S.A. (Odeon Records), an EMI company, catalog number A-2002 (LDC-36914/15), with machine etched matrix numbers T1-2222-T1 6 2N (“N” inverted) in Side 1, T2-2222-P1 7 4N (“4N” inverted) in Side 2, T3-2222-P1 7 1N (“N” inverted) in Side 3 and T4-2222-F1 #2 3N (“N” inverted) in Side 4, with the Scranton plant symbol (“IAM” inside a triangle) in the deadwax of Sides 1 and 3, which proves Chilean press used the same masters of original US release, with big unboxed Odeon Records logo and silver text. Yes Sirs, this is one of the rarest album by The Beatles worldwide!!! ANOTHER FIND from Chile for The Beatles collectors worldwide!!!

“THE BEATLES’ STORY” is a documentary double album featuring interviews, press conferences, and song snippets with voice-overs originally released in November 1964 and we didn’t have to wait much because it was released in 1965, after the release of “Help!”, here in Chile and like in most of the cases of that period, we got this album with an UNIQUE COVER and UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE which you will only find in this Chilean issue!!! The cover is non-laminated and non-gatefold, it’s the typical Chilean cover made of 2 single sheets of paper attached (not glued) to a thin cardboard kept together for an outer plastic bag with an extra plastified cardboard to separate both records. Front cover keeps partially the original US artwork with the album title at top edge and the faces of all four Beatles, but here in Chile in the place of the UK flag we got a black and white picture of The Beatles on stage, with album title and all text written in Spanish only and album title in brown lettering (in original US press it’s red). Back cover is totally different, with all text written in Spanish only, without the pictures of the band of original US press, but with the tracklist listed in Spanish only, except for “A Hard Day’s Night”!!! At the bottom is the boxed Odeon/EMI logo with black box for “Odeon” and “SELECCION APLAUSOS” (Claps Selection) text and logo at top right corner. In labels the album title and tracklist are written in Spanish only, with no additional information. The sides are the same of US press, the first record includes the sides 1 and 4, and the second record the sides 2 and 3. If this design of cover and artwork is UNIQUE and you know and collect The Beatles albums you should also know that “HISTORIA DE LOS BEATLES” released in Chile is considered one of the rarest The Beatles albums worldwide!!! Hans Pokora listed this album with a level of rarity of 5/6!!! And here you have the chance to own this rarity with UNIQUE COVER and UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE, with correct black/silver big unboxed Odeon logo in labels and “SELECCION APLAUSOS” text and logo in both front and back covers!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE for all The Beatles fans, lovers and collectors worldwide!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in great VG or VG+ condition both the front and back cover, complete and clean, with general wear, with some creases and little rips in all edges, with some age browning, more evident in back cover, in the place where the original outer plastic bag was ripped, with a number, “2255”, written at bottom left corner in back cover, with no ring marks or missing parts. Original outer plastic bag is present and it has got a bit dirty, as usual with this kind of outer plastic bags, it has some rips, the more evident in back cover because it was badly ripped when the original owner got out the records. The records are thick and in VG+ or EX- condition all sides, glossy and clean, with soft scuffs and hairlines, and some light scratches which don’t affect play at all. Labels on all sides are in EX or EX+ condition, clean, clear and clear, with minimal spindle hole wear, the grading is mostly given because some past owner wrote a number in each label as you can see in the pictures. The sound is the best part of this record, it’s in strong VG+ or EX- condition all sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), only some soft crackles and some really light pops and clicks here and there, more evident in the silent parts between tracks, which don’t really cause major distraction, but I’d recommend a deep vacuum cleaning anyway. Overall, maybe this double record isn’t for Minty or audiophile minds, but sure this record is A MUST TO HAVE no matter the condition and you get here a cover in a very decent shape and records with still a great sound quality from the beginning to the end after about 54 years, with NO SKIPS, NO REPETITIONS, NO DISTORTIONS at all, these records won’t disappoint anyone who knows the level of rarity!!! Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
