1968 MONO

This album is from my own collection, bought by me new in 1960s when I was a teenager.

Sleeve, Gatefold, top loading, plain white laminated with impressed title The BEATLES and number No. 0108677. On the spine in grey at the top The BEATLES and near the bottom Stereo PCS 7067-8 Mono 7067-8. Inside the list of titles and on the facing side 4 photographs of the Beatles.

Condition is very good I think, a bit of wear on the top edge, ring marks where the records are and the colour is more a creamy colour - age discolouration perhaps - a small stain near the top edge front - but bearing in mind that its 48 years old and was bought to be played and used not to be kept as a specimen item then I think its fair to say is in very good order.

The photographs of the 4 Beatles are also very good clean condition, no pin holes or stains, one is just slightly bumped on the top edge. No Poster, that went on my bedroom wall and wasn't saved.

The inner sleeves are the black paper Apple die cut sleeves with only one label die cut hole on each - these were only on the early press ones
In very good condition, no tears just minor creasing on the corners

The record labels are the dark green apple on one side and the cut apple on the reverse side. Sold in UK subject to resale price conditions. Production by George Martin Orchestration by George Martin An EMI recording. Mfd in UK. NOT MARKED STEREO so I think I am correct in saying these are MONO recordings.

Side 3 and 4 do not have An EMI recording printed on the label, I don't know if this is usual as I have never looked at the labels in close detail before.

The records themselves are quite a thick record and appear to be in very good condition, they have been played by me in the distant past and probably do have a few light surface scuffs but I can't see any major scratches, but I am not a record collector, so as far as grading goes for the experts out there I can only say what I see.

These are just from my own teenage record collection, I was a great Beatles fan and have several albums and fan club christmas records which I am now disposing of as no one else in the family wants them and I need to see if anyone else wants them before my sons decide to throw them on the skip.

I havn't played these records for a long time as I have not had a record player since they went out of fashion and music was more available on CDs

I think this was The Beatles 9th album and caused a bit of controversy in the recording studios due in part to Yoko Ono's influence on John Lennon

I hope these will find a new home - I always thought records were better than CDs in the good old days
