THE BEATLES – WHITE ALBUM, ORIGINAL MONO.

1968 PMC 7067/7068 -  APPLE RECORD LABEL.

A UK FIRST EDITION TOP LOADING MONO PRESSING WITH A UNIQUE SERIAL NUMBER OF ‘0286584’.   THE SLEEVES SPINE IS WIDER THAN MOST, MEASURING 9mm IN WIDTH. SIDE ONE ON THE VINYL HAS A   ‘1 G’   MOTHER/STAMPER.  UNUSUALLY THERE IS A  ‘KT’  EMBOSSED ONTO THE GREEN SIDE OF THE RECORD LABEL ON SIDE THREE. 

CONDITION:

MAIN SLEEVE:  the double album gatefold sleeve is in very good condition.  The four opening edges of the sleeve are  all in very good+ condition. On the front it has a raised Beatles logo and the unique individual SERIAL Number of 0286584, this number appears clear and bold.  There is no  text printed on the rear of the sleeve proving this to be a genuine MONO sleeve. The records are accessed from the top.  The spine is very good condition,  The  spine width measures 9mm, this is much wider that the normal  spine width,   all the text is  clear, there is a little flaky laminate.  The sleeve features visible flipbacks when the sleeve is opened, these flipbacks are all excellent and well stuck down.  When the sleeve is opened is it very white, clean and tidy. 

INNER SLEEVES: are the two original black inners and have NOT been  replaced.  The first sleeve I would grade as being in very good condition,  One side has some rubbing edge wear   and there are  Two  tears,  25mm at the  ‘die cut’ hole and a 15mm tear on one side at the top.   The other sleeve is in very good+ condition with NO edge wear, there are  two small tears,  5mm at the  ‘die cut’ hole and three small tears one side of the opening edge.  

POSTER: is in near excellent condition, there are NO tears, cellotape residue,  pin hole damage or blue tack residue.  The poster is very white and clean, there is some slight wear to the very centre joints.  There is some isolated ‘age spots’ to the rear of the poster. 

PHOTOS: are in excellent+ condition,  the photos are made from the original thick card.   The rear of the photos are fresh and white with NO cellotape residue,  pin hole damage or Blue tack residue.

VINYL:  record One and Two are in very good+  condition.  The two records are made of the original ‘thick and heavy’ vinyl and are dark and very shiny.  I have just played this album all the way through on my ‘Dual’ turntable and it sounded amazing, a really strong powerful Mono sound.  The audio is very good, there is some isolated crackle to be heard on playback, but otherwise there is little to spoil the enjoyment of the playback.  Record One does not lay completely flat on the turntable, but it plays fine, record Two lays flat on the turntable, both the records play really well with NO skips or jumps.

The matrix nos. are XEX 709-1, XEX 710-1, XEX 711-1 and XEX 712-1. The Mother/Stampers are:   ‘ 1  G’    (an amazing first pressing),   ‘1  H’,  ‘4  MG’ and ‘7  GRO’.       Record Two has an unusual  sharp edge to it.

THE LABELS:  are all in near excellent  condition and show NO Biro writing or sticker residue etc.   The labels feature the original DARK green Apple colours.  All Four of the record labels have the text  ‘An EMI recording’,  all the labels show  ‘Sold in the UK’ text etc.  The George and Ringo songs are listed as  ‘Apple Publishing’.   Very unusually  there is a ‘KT’  embossed onto side Three of the label,    but this is  embossed onto  the  GREEN side  of the label.

Unfortunately as you  will see from my feedback,   I have received one neutral and one negative feedback recently.   This is due to the fact that I followed Ebay policy and reported  an Ebay member for non payment and in turn I have received these two pieces of feedback !, while this Ebay member carries on trading unaffected !,    I am disgusted that Ebay has let this happen !

I cannot offer free shipping by Royal Mail as in some cases it would mean I would be paying you to buy the record !.
Ebay's solution is for me to add the cost of the postage to the starting price of the item !, this would be Ebays gain as Ebay will get more in their final valuation fee !  but this would penalise international buyers.  Also, UK buyers buying more than one record would be penalised !,  as combined postage would be eradicated.

Grading System

The seven standard condition categories and a description of what each one means are listed below:

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
