~ RARE ORIGINAL UK 1ST MONO RELEASE - 1ST/2ND PRESSING WITH MISSPELLING ON SLEEVE (1963) ~
DESCRIPTION:
December 1963 – early 1964. Ernest .J.Day & Co. front laminated cover, with large “mono” on front. Has the misspeled “You Really Gotta Hold On Me” credit on the Sleeve (Corrected on label of Side 2 on Vinyl). First pressings have the matrices 447-1N & 448-1N (see pictures of item above). During pressing, it was noticed that the credits & spelling on the labels and covers were incorrect i.e. the track ‘Money’ was given the incorrect “Jobete” credit and the track “You Really Got A Hold on Me” was mispelt on the cover and on the labels as “Gotta”. These errors were only noticed after a quantity of 1N mis-pressings had been made. The errors were soon corrected and the matrix numbers on the record almost immediately started to rise from 1N to 3N, 4N, 5N, 6N and finally ending with 7N, with which the majority of 1963 mono were pressed.
PLEASE NOTE: Although this record carries the matrices and misspelt sleeve of the 1st Pressing, the labels on the record in this auction are of the 2nd Pressing released shortly afterwards (Carrying the corrected Dominion label credit and not Jobette). This record seems to be some kind of hybrid of the two pressings which I cannot find reference to.
MATRICES: Side 1: XEX 447-1N; Side 2: XEX 448-1N (see pics).
Offered at a fantastic price given the superb condition for year!
The vinyl and sleeve is in lovely condition, playback is excellent with no deep scratches. There are a couple of very light marks present which do not effect playback..they are pictured above but so fine are barely visible. Otherwise vinyl is excellent. See pics and gradings below. DELIVERY TIMES:
UK / Northern Ireland: Orders placed before midday Mon-Fri will be dispatched the same day. Please be aware that orders placed after midday on a Friday will not be dispatched until the following Monday as we do not send out goods over a weekend. First class packets should arrive the following working day if the order is placed before midday the previous day (Mon-Fri).
NB: Please do consider (especially when leaving feedback) that, for example, if you pay for a Second Class delivery at 4pm on Friday, then it will not go out until Monday and then take a further two days for 2nd Class delivery, arriving on Wednesday. You will always receive the speed of delivery you pay for so please do respect and observe these delivery terms when rating us.
Overseas: Shipping times will vary depending on region and delivery method selected.
RETURNS: YOU HAVE 14 DAYS TO RETURN GOODS FROM THE DATE OF RECEIPT: I accept returns for goods damaged in transit where a full refund of the item and delivery costs will be provided on return of the item. In the unlikely event there are reasonable grounds to question that an item was listed "not as described" then I will also offer a full refund of the item cost only upon return of the goods. All return costs are to be paid by the buyer, however, I will refund return costs in exceptional circumstances where my service is clearly at fault.
