A-side : Dry The Rain

             I know

B-side : B + A

             Dogs Got A Bone

It was released in April, Exclusively for Record Store Day 2013 on the ‘EMI/Regal Recordings’ label (cat.no. REGS 16) in a Limited Edition of just 750 copies, and comes in a sealed picture sleeve.

The Beta Band formed in St. Andrews, Scotland in 1996 by Steve Mason and Gordon Anderson. They recruited further members and started worked on this, their debut release. Anderson left the band, due to ill health, and later began recording under the name Lone Pigeon The band signed to the ‘Regal Recordings’ label, and the ‘Champion Sounds EP’ was issued in July 1997 to critical acclaim not only for the music but also for the record's innovative cut-and-paste sleeve design. Two further EPs followed in 1998: ‘The Patty Patty Sound’ in March and ‘Los Amigos del Beta Bandidos’ in July. The EPs were all subjects of widespread critical praise, and all three appeared on the appropriately titled ‘The Three E.P.'s’ collection in September 1998. The compilation was rated by Pitchfork in the ‘Top 10 Albums’ of the year.

This is a re-issue of the long-deleted, classic debut EP release by the band, which was produced by Nick McCabe from The Verve.
