The first reissue of the songs from the rare 1982 "Penny Lane/Im Down" 7-inch from Omaha, Nebraskas BETTER BEATLES, along with eight previously unreleased songs. Unlike their DIY brethren in the punk scene, the BETTER BEATLES sported no originals-just savagely wacked, de-tuned, deadpan readings of Beatles material in a manner no one save the Residents could have imagined in 1980. The songs are dark, primitive, analog synth-driven and at times transcendent. The single was a John Peel favorite and was played often by him years after its initial release. For fans of early-80s minimal synth wave.

GRADING. Grading is visual only unless otherwise stated. I go by Goldmine standards and try to be conservative. I will play grade on certain items only - it is just impossible for me to play grade everything I put on EBAY. MINT means factory sealed, never opened or played. NM is opened but in visually brand new, out-of-the-packaging clean condition. NM- is not NM! Its a grade above VG++ and below Near Mint - it does not imply perfect. In my terminology Scratches are feeler type and Scuffs are just cosmetic and usually inaudible.
