THE COMPLETE cLOUDDEAD MUSH 10" SERIES - 6 RECORDS
This is a complete set of the 6 cLOUDDEAD 10" releases on Mush records. These records not only contain the music of cLOUDDEAD's debut album, but they are also beautiful works of art. Any cLOUDDEAD fan will know that these records are rare and no longer in print.
Each record has the same song on both sides, with a blank white center label. The cover art is full-color and very aesthetically pleasing.
The records are in EXCELLENT condition. Each record has been played either once or never. The cover of the "cLOUDDEAD No. 5" 10-inch has tiny 1/8-inch wear in its upper left hand corner, from sitting on the shelf. This is the only conceivable condition flaw in the set and it is negligible.
Shipping is $12 in the US, special arrangements elsewhere. Winning bidder must make payment ASAP after purchase. PayPal preferred!
Below are the record descriptions from the Mush website www.dirtyloop.com
MH012: cLOUDDEAD - apt. A
The first in a series of six ten-inch eps, cLOUDDEAD's 'apt. A' sets the tone for what's to come from this genre-shattering trio. Featuring a guest appearance from hip-hop's top new emcee, Illogic, 'apt A' combines odd nosdam's spaced-out production with the singsong stylings of Doseone and why?. The song structures and vocal play are far from traditional as the release crosses from hip-hop to indie-rock to establish cLOUDDEAD as one of the most fearless groups in underground music.
MH013: cLOUDDEAD - and all you can do is laugh.
cLOUDDEAD's second installment in their ten-inch series is the lighthearted 'and all you can do is laugh.'. Side A brings more of the intricate vocal interplay Doseone and why? have become known for, as the duo runs down a list of those who are underground, and reminisce on being booed off stage during a hip-hop open-mic night. Side B features 1200 Hobo Turtablist Dj Signify cutting tweaked vocals and other odds and ends over a slew of odd nosdam anti-beats.
MH014: cLOUDDEAD - I promise never to get paint on my glasses again.
'I promise never to get paint on my glasses again.' puts Doseone front and center as the avant-emcee uses his voice as an instrument over ambient spacerock production provided by odd nosdam. Similar to Doseone's 'Slow Death' project, 'I promise never to get paint on my glasses again.' is an extremely personal look into the psyche of an artist. The more traditional hip-hop movement that ends Side A, features Anticon's Sole joining Dose to rail against life, the industry, and anyone else in the crossfire.
MH015: cLOUDDEAD - JimmyBreeze
why? takes control on cLOUDDEAD's fourth release, 'JimmyBreeze'. Featuring a prank phone call to a wanna-be guitarist, an infectious video game beat, rock-esque falsetto vocals, creepy samples of a birthday party, and live instrumentation, 'JimmyBreeze' will surely establish why? as an artist that defies genre. Production on the release is handled by why? and odd nosdam, and features live drums, guitar, and organ by the Wolf Bros.
MH016: cLOUDDEAD - (cloud dead number five)
odd nosdam allows his ambient and space-rock influences to take over his production on cLOUDDEAD's fifth release '(cloud dead number five)'. Featuring tasteful and understated cuts from the original 1200 Hobo, Mr. Dibbs, '(cloud dead number five)' is an instrumental piece that establishes mood through a glacial yet ever morphing wall of sound. The release is completely divergent, yet somehow fits perfectly with the other cLOUDDEAD releases to establish the group's identity.
MH017: cLOUDDEAD - Bike
cLOUDDEAD concludes its ten-inch series with the California inspired 'Bike'. Featuring an assortment of street performers, location recordings, overheard conversations, and the occasional baffled passerby (The Bay Area Animals), 'Bike' is cLOUDDEAD's strongest work to date. Doseone and why?'s rapid fire vocals and the ever maturing production of odd nosdam shine through on the perfect ending to a remarkable series of releases.
