THE DOORS

“ABSOLUTELY LIVE”

Not a double album, 2 single albums!!!

By the very first time in eBay!!!

Unique press worldwide!!!

MEGARARE original ELEKTRA Records very first STEREO press released in Chile in 1977 by ASFONA Records like 2 single separate albums (!!!) titled “Vol. 1” and “Vol. 2”, catalog number EKS-9002/1 for the first album (the first record) and EKS-9002/2 for the second album (the second record) and matrix numbers: SD-8245-A EB-CD in Side 1 and SD-8245-B EB-CD in Side 2, with green/black butterfly Elektra Records labels. Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!! Another great record in superb condition!!! And remember we are conservatives to grade our records…

“ABSOLUTELY LIVE” was originally released in 1970 as a double album by Elektra Records but we had to wait until 1977 to see this classic rock album released in Chile and like most of the releases of that time, we got an UNIQUE COVER and we also got this album released like 2 single separate albums!!! For both albums it’s a single non-gatefold and non-laminated flipback cover made of 2 pieces of thin cardboard with front cover pasted on the flips. Front cover keeps strictly the same original artwork, but it has the Asfona Records logo at the upper left corner, below the title of the album. See the pictures, in Chile it’s also written “Vol. 1” and “Vol.2” to identify the first and second record. Back cover also keeps the original artwork but it’s only black and white coloured with the tracklist in English, translated to Spanish, with Elektra Records logo in the upper left corner and “SERIE ESPECIAL DE LUJO” (Serie Deluxe Special) written below the Elektra Records logo and at the bottom right corner “EL DISCO ES CULTURA” (Record is culture). Title of the album is in English in covers and labels, but in labels it’s also translated to Spanish.

Yes, yes, yes… Here it’s a REAL FIND, another rarity from Chile!!! This is the very first press of “ABSOLUTELY LIVE” released in Chile in 1977 as part of the "SERIE ESPECIAL DE LUJO" of Asfona Records.

Absolutely Live  Vol. 1

The cover was already described, front cover keeps same original artwork as original and back cover is different. It’s interesting to see that front cover keeps a blue-tinted colour but the most interesting part is in the labels. Name of the band is only “DOORS” and album title was translated to Spanish like “ABSOLUTAMENTE EN VIVO”. In both, back cover and label of Side 1 it’s not listed in the tracklist the “House Announcer” (Track 1), it only has 2 songs, “Who do you love?” and “Meddley” with tracks included. In labels are all the credits of every song. In back cover is written “Who do you love?”, translated to Spanish “¿A quién amas?”, but in label is “Who do you love” and translated “A quién amas” (“?” missing), and “Five to one”, only in English in back cover is translated to Spanish in label.

In Chile “Vol. 1” was released some months before the “Vol. 2”. In the deadwax of records you can find the original date of pressing: “13-6-77” (June 13 of 1977) in both sides. One more time, WHAT A FIND!!! How many times have you seen this press in eBay? Yes, you know, this is a VERY RARE and HARD TO FIND press of this iconic album!!!

The cover it’s in VG+ or EX- condition, no missing parts, no rips, no writings, no marks of any kind, only some minimal ring mark and wear in the edges and some wear in edges and mouth. The record is in NM- or NM condition both sides, glossy, clean, no scratches, no hairlines, only minimal scuffs hard to see which, of course, don’t affect the play. Labels are in NM or NM+ condition both sides, just like new, but in Side 1 some past owner wrote a number. The sound is great, it’s in NM- or NM condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), no pops, no skips, no repetitions, no distortions at all, only some very minimal crackles here and there, almost impossible to hear if you are not trying to find them. Overall it’s a really superb copy with a fabulous look and an amazing sound quality after 34 years!!! Maybe the best copy you can get from Chile!!!

Absolutely Live  Vol. 2

The cover was already described, front cover keeps same original artwork as original and back cover is different. It’s interesting to see that front cover keeps a green-tinted colour but the most interesting part is in the labels. Name of the band is correct “THE DOORS” and album title was translated to Spanish like “EN VIVO… ABSOLUTAMENTE”. In both, back cover and labelsthe tracklist is written in English, translated to Spanish, with all the credits of every song.

In Chile “Vol. 2” was released some months after the “Vol. 1”. In the deadwax of records you can find the original date of pressing: “27-10-77” (October 27 of 1977) in both sides. One more time, WHAT A FIND!!! How many times have you seen this press in eBay? Yes, you know, this is a VERY RARE and HARD TO FIND press of this iconic album!!!

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.

IMPORTANT TO READ

We are not responsible for all the taxes, duties, fees you could have to pay in your country, but I always declare the records as gift.

If you have some doubt or question feel free to contact us, we will be glad to answer all that you want to know about this item.
