BEST PRICEDCOPY ON EBAY AS OF 4-17-2017. Two other first pressings are currently posted on eBay for $104 and $129. There is a 1997 vinyl reissue / remaster that does not sound like these original analog recordings. The CD is farther away from the first pressings.
Rare vinyl LP by Boston psychedelic rockers The Fort Mudge Memorial Dump on the Mercury label. Very hard to find. The band was one of the finest bands associate with the Boss-Town sound along with The Beacon Street Union and Ultimate Spinich.
The fine DISCOGS web site says of this album: “The Fort Mudge Memorial Dump was a band from Walpole, Massachusetts, that started playing by 1969, gathering a good number of fans. They got filed into the 'Boston Sound', among the Ultimate Spinach, the Beacon Street Union, Orpheus, Tangerine Zoo, etc. With good technique and better ideas, they recorded a very sought-after LP in which the voice of Caroline Stratton stands out to some Jefferson Airplane affinity. Guitarist Dean Keady, with his jazzy effects, leads the band. This is one of the most formidable LPs out of Boston in the late 1960’s.
Lead singer Caroline Stratton kept her hands in the Boston music scene through the years and in 2003 she released a well-reviewed solo CD on her own private label titled “Caroline Sizzles”. Well worth the hunt.
Stored vertically in a smoke-free environment for 48 years.
