Description
A first press UK mono copy of The Village Green Preservation Society by The Kinks on Pye vinyl from 1968.
The lovely first press mono disc is in VG+ condition - a gorgeous glossy black with very few marks to be seen when examined under strong halogen lighting, and certainly no feelable scratches. It plays brilliantly all the way through, both sides, with no clicks, no skips and no jumps. And what great music!
The outer laminated gatefold sleeve with inner pocket is VG- and yet easily one of the better surviving examples of this fragile sleeve with its flimsy single card front flap; there's no unwanted writing and no nasty creases in the cover, though there is an area of lifted/split lamination towards the bottom of the spine together with some corner and edge wear and some chipping along the top and bottom edges including some laminate/print loss (please see photos). But overall this is a very strong and presentable example of this rare gatefold.
Good luck if you are bidding. I carefully package all rare vinyl with the disc removed from the sleeve to eliminate 'knifing' during transit. Please check out my other high quality original UK psych offerings.
