THE KINKS ARE THE VILLAGE GREEN PRESERVATION SOCIETY

Vinyl in EXCELLENT++ Condition

Sleeve in  EXCELLENT Condition

mega-rare 1968 UK PYE MONO LP NPL 18233

This record has fast become one of the most sought after UK 60s records, and rarely appears for sale. The holy grail not only for KINKS fans, but anyone who loves sixties music, or indeed rock music in general. While PYE persisted in continually repackaging their major stars under the "Marble Arch" economy label, they prevented the public from taking in these bands'/singers' latest developments, so public taste always seemed to stay a couple of years out of date. Consequently, whilst the public could take a trip down memory lane and listen to classic early KINKS, their latest material sold poorly, and copies of "Something Else" and "Village Green" are extremely thin on the ground now. You certainly will wait a long, long time to find another in this kind of condition.

Realistically, do not expect to find a better condition vinyl, as this one is really outstanding. The first pressing PYE labels are stunning, with, as you can see above, no damage or writing and very light spindle wear only, restricted mainly to the Side 2 label. I hope the photos do justice to how little this item has been played. The heavyweight vinyl itself is pristine and beautifully shiny with mega-light sign of wear. Absolutely no significant marks, no scratches, with, as you can expect, no surface noise or audible defects as a result, playing perfectly throughout. Truly, truly outstanding. The sleeve is also in exceptional condition. It usually turnes up heavily creased or torn due to the flimsy nature of the gatefold sleeve. Like the Beatles' For Sale gatefold sleeve, every play requires you to pull the record out towards the spine, weakening and causing tears/splits to it. This sleeve has avoided such heavy wear and, again, as you can see from the photos, the spine is about as nice as you can realistically expect to find. Superbly strong and complete. The left side of the gatefold displays very little creasing, one to the lower right corner and another to the upper right corner, but these are very minor, not heavy and of little consequence. With very light wrinkling to the rear section and one record related crease, this is easily grades EXCELLENT. Absolutely no significant wear. The inside is superb, with no writing, no flipback damage and no discoloration/staining. A real treat! No fraying to the edges, no splits, no further wear to note. You really never see this record in this condition. You will not be disappointed.

 Do not underestimate the rarity of this item in this condition!

EXTREMELY HARD TO FIND IN THIS CONDITION!
