Description
THE KINKS “We are the Village Green Preservation Society”
1968/UK/Pye NPL 18233……here’s an original UK Mono pressing of this rare lp. The laminated inner flap gatefold cover is in solid VG- condition, there is corner wear, the laminated has lifted and cracked in spots along the left side, there are a couple of micro tears near the bottom on the spine edge, there are a few light creases, top and bottom edges of outer gatefold have slight wear, there is a minor less than ¼” split in the spine right at the bottom, clean inner gatefold, solid readable spine and solid seams. Still looks nice too! The vinyl is in VG condition and has 5 small scratches I can feel, they are all short and cause little problem, I heard approx. 15 light ticks across one scratch and intermittent light ticks across the other ones, otherwise there are just some light scuffs/scratches which do pretty much nothing. The vinyl plays remarkably well with no groove damage, skips, sticks or other issues, other than the light ticks I mentioned there is light noise mainly between the tracks and the fidelity is excellent! The labels have numerous spindle marks but no other issues. There is considerable glare on the picture due to the camera flash. Please check my auctions for other rock, and psych lp’s, good luck and thanks for looking!

The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society is the sixth studio album by the English rock group The Kinks, released in November 1968. It was the last album by the original quartet, as bassist Pete Quaife left the group in early 1969. A collection of thematic vignettes of English town and hamlet life, The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society was assembled from songs written and recorded over the previous two years. Allmusic senior editor Stephen Thomas Erlewine described Village Green as a "concept album lamenting the passing of old-fashioned English traditions." The record is widely considered one of the most influential and important works by The Kinks, and of the period as a whole. Although it failed to chart upon release, with estimated worldwide sales at 100,000 copies, The Village Green Preservation Society has become one of the band's best selling and most popular records.[3] In 2003, the album was ranked number 255 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

///GRADING///
MINT: as stated with no defects
M- OR NEAR MINT: as stated near Mint!, or Mint Minus, same thing, very clean with no defect to sound or visual appearance, one scuff or mark may be permitted but it will be mentioned in the description, a near Mint record looks and plays very clean
EXCELLENT: not much below near Mint, may have a delete hole and/or a minor defect or two not visually detracting from the cover, the vinyl will appear shiny and in clean condition with very minor defects not affecting the sound, still very clean and very collectable!
VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal cover wear and/or delete/splits, still visually appealing, the vinyl will retain it's original gloss and can have some minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much
VG+ a little more cover/ring wear and delete, splits etc., the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches I may list a very rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects, both cover and vinyl no matter the condition, I also play grade the records on high end equipment and will give an honest play grade as well as visual grade, considering the number of records I buy on line my grading is very conservative and fair.
