The Mamas & The Papas were formed in 1965 in Los Angeles by husband and wife John and Michelle Phillips and Denny Doherty, formerly of The Mugwumps. The last member to join was Cass Elliot, Doherty's bandmate in The Mugwumps.

They released a total of five studio albums and seventeen singles over a four-year period, six of which made the Billboard top ten, and sold close to 40 million records worldwide. 

Upon the band breaup in 1968, Cass Elliot launched a successful solo career which lasted until her untimely death in 1974 from a heart attack in London. She was 32 years old.

COLLECTED is a perfect overview of the multiple classic hits and tracks throughout the career of The Mamas & The Papas and complimented with several popular tracks by Mama Cass Elliot.

The Mamas & The Papas fueron formados en Los Angeles en 1965 por John and Michelle Phillips y Denny Doherty, antigüo miembro de  The Mugwumps. La última en unirse al grupo fue Cass Elliot compañera de Doherty en The Mugwumps.

El grupo lanzó un total de cinco álbumes de estudio y diecisiete singles en un periodo de cuatro años. Seis de esos singles alcanzaron el Top Ten de la lista Billboard. Vendieron cerca de 40 millones de discos en todo el mundo.

La banda se disolvió en 1968. Cass Elliot se embarcó en la que sería una exitosa carrera en solitario truncada por su muerte de un ataque al corazón en Londres en 1974 cuando tan solo contaba con 32 años de edad.
