THE MOVEMENT OZ GARAGE PUNK/UGLY THINGS=I WANNA BE FREE
They were from northern NSW (Lismore?) To quote Glen A Baker from the liner notes to
“The Best of Ugly Things (CD)” “They cut an admirable version of the Spencer Davis Group’s
‘Looking Back’ but very few people ever flipped it over and heard the grinding, bluesy,
menacing flipside- ‘I Wanna Be Free” It’s a standout track on this compilation Baker calls
“the best of the vinyl albums” and he’s right- it’s a slab of vinyl as dirty, savage and brutal
the best Aussie garage punk there is. The (b) side is M- while the (a) side has a superficial
(non feelable) feather. Both sides play equally well. Labels are EX+. Rare monsta.
In an original jacket.
