THE PINK FLOYD - PIPER AT THE GATES OF DAWN LP

COLUMBIA (SX 6157)

RARE UK MONO PRESSING

BLACK LABELS WITH BLUE COLUMBIA

LAMINATED FLIPBACK SLEEVE

CONDITION:

First let me say that I bought this record from new and it has been carefully stored in a protective outer sleeve all of its life. Whilst this has preserved the stunning sleeve beautifully I think this is to blame for the loss of sheen that the record suffers from on side 1, where it has casued the vinyl to 'sweat' at some time in the past. There is an all over cloudy 'bloom' to the vinyl surface on this side which is a real shame as the other side of the record is in EX condition and retains and lovely gleaming sheen. I have playchecked the record through thoroughly on both sides. Side one plays with clear and loud sound, if you listen carefully you can hear some light background which is caused I guess by the 'bloom' on the surface, that said the music is still lovely loud and strong. Side 2 again has a bit of crackle if you listen for it but still lovely loud and strong audio. Whilst this cannot be considered a top copy due to the loss of shine on side one I would still say it is a really nice one that has clearly been well-looked after (by me!) The cover itself is in fantastic MINT- condition and is a simply stunning example with lovely crisp corners and sharp edges. There is a the merest hint of a laminate crease at the opening edge and next to the spine edge, but these are being really picky and are insignificant given the overall condition of the sleeve. This has been stored in a protective sleeve all of its life and it shows as the condition is superb, I really do think it would be hard to find better!!!
