Here we have this listing...IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND!! - "THE POWER OF THE PICTS" & "WRITING ON THE WALL". An ORIGINAL "Middle Earth" label 1st press, with A1 & B1 matrix. Catalogue number - MDLS.303. Please note : this is not a re-press. Make no mistake this is ULTRA RARE, a real collectors dream!!

This is an ORIGINAL holy grail psych shocker, VERY sought after & extremely rare & In this condition... Ever more so. Seldom comes up for auction & I find it difficult to part with indeed, but....its time for someone else out there to benefit & to own this EXCELLENT copy. A sound investment for any collector/lover of the psych era's music.

"Power Of The Picts" only release, a Scottish band formed out of original 60's soul group "The Jury".

Moving on from this sound as many did, they had only this one studio release which encapsulated a blues, psych, progressive approach blended with some abstract poetry. A SUPER RARE RECORD HERE!!! I've Never personally known anyone to own another copy.

NOTE : Low start price, but there is a respectable reserve price set for this item.

Please Note : The record itself is a TOP Copy!!!! Mint audio, tried & tested all the way on both the -A- & -B- sides. The test play reminded me of how great and different this bands tracks are. Still stands the test of time and sounds better than most new stuff around today.

Here I will do my best to provide a run down of the overall condition below, including close up photographs available at the very bottom of this description. Please Note : I will, if requested provide some sound clips of (3) tracks all taken directly from the vinyl (no added production). These will be exactly as the record plays!! Please just ask & Provide an e.mail address for me to mail them to.

The cover :

"Condition-wise" this has seen better days, Although the positive aspects are...there are no handwritten names, no ripping or tearing to the artwork, the spine is intact at the side, no splitting with some slight wear but no record push. Bottom right hand corner has a slight 1 Inch tear.

A little ringwear to the back cover & some creases here & there. Around the edges there are also signs of shelfwear, a slight score on the skull front cover. Out of 100% I would give this 75%. Still perfectly acceptable. To avoid any further issues, I have stored the jacket inside a soft polythene protector. Please see close up photographs of the actual item below.

The labels :

Out of 100% these are 98% condition. No ripping or tears. No faded print, no handwriting. ORIGINAL "Middle Earth" logo & all track titles info etc are perfectly clear & readable. Fantastic examples on both sides. No signs of spindle wear either, it never was played that much, only a couple of times at most and only good home play, no wild parties for this one.

The actual record :

Has no issues of a negative to list, there are...no cracks, dunts, bumps, no warping of the vinyl, sits perfectly flat on a turntable. There are no surface scratched marks or nail scuffs, handled with extreme care every time when played. Examined under daylight the record appears spotless & under extreme bright white light (Halogen bulb) There are only a few very light & almost non-existent hairlines. This is being very critical on my part as if you view the close up photographs taken of the vinyl you will see just how clean a copy this is. Stored in my loft for years & not played for over 35 Years Plus!!!! No damp or smell on the cover or Ingrained dust on the record. Out of 100% This vinyl for an original  & Visual look gets 99%.

And last but not least... the audio :

From the test play, I was delighted to hear how great this record is still sounding. FANTASTIC & LOUD pressing, with very little (if any) Signs of even ever being played. All tracks are free from any... pops, clicks, needle thrash, if anything you might hear a slight almost inaudible tick somewhere but I heard none of these and none of the above listed issue's. Plays with ease, very quiet play between tracks and at the quieter played parts. The very nature of the way these tracks were arranged & played demands attention to detail when listening.

Anyone should be delighted upon recieving this ULTRA RARE and ORIGINAL Issue. With A1 & B1 Oon the run out dead wax. Very happy to offer this.

Record will be packed in a tough custom box DEFENDAPACK mailer as shown in the photos below. The mailer has a locking tab. The record will be placed outside the cover inside a polythene protector between two card stiffeners and sealed at the top with fragile marked masking tape.

Mint (M) The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet. booklet or poster are in perfect condiition. Records marked as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good (VG) The record has obviously been played many times, but displayes no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any moajor defects is acceptable

Good (G) Te record has been played so much that the sound quality has notceably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc

Fair (F) The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

Poor (P) The record will not play properly due to scratched, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing Bad (B) The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler

CD's and CASSETTES As a general rule CD's and Cassettes either play perfectly - inwhich case they are in Mint condition - or they don't, in which case their value is minimal. Cassette tape is liable to deteriorate with age, even if it remains unplayed, so care should be taken when buying old tapes. CD's are difficult to grade visually; they can look perfect but actually be faulty, while in other cases they may appear damaged but still play perfectly. Cassette and CD inlays and booklets should be graded in the same way as record covers and sleeves. In general, the plastic containers for cassettes and CDs can easily be replaces if they are broken or scratched, but card covers and digipaks are subject to the same wear as record sleeves
