Description

Ralph Records "20 Neat Things!!" Box issued by Ralph Records (no catalogue number) in USA, 1986. Private edition limited to a handful of copies. This is copy No.18. ****** Prints & Objects:ex ****** Have you ever heard about Ralph Records "20 Neat Things!!"??? Guess not… as it's the most obscure of all Ralph Records / Residents editions! We all know about that "Santa Dog" double 7" from the early 1970s… and we heard legends about a "Third Reich 'n' Roll Box" (and some of us even saw images of it)… But myself, in about 30 years of fanatic appreciation of the Residents, I knew nothing about the existence of the edition offered here. "20 Neat Things!!" was an Official Limited Edition box by Ralph Records collecting rare artifacts. For years the Residents were saving small pieces of neat things to be offered to a handful of lucky collectors among their contacts. The box contains: one Flintmole Picture Sleeve, one piece of Moleshow back drop, one button, one Vileness Fats slate card, one Important Message, one Cryptic Business card, four 10th Anniversary stickers, four Residents stickers, one Duck Stab pack sticker, one Art Bears lyric sheet, misc press clippings, one Residents Handbook Sheet, one Button slick, one Ralph nite sheet, one piece 16mm Vileness Fats footage, one Balloon, three pieces of Ralph / Cryptic paper stuff, one piece of Moleshow burlap, Residents screen, one old Ralph label plus bonus frisks to be used in the future. The bonus frisks include: one Ralph Records official postcard, one Ralph Records sticker, three buttons, one 1984 Ralph buck, one 1986 Happy Holidays from Ralph Records card, four Voice Farm stickers, one Big City Orchestra card, three Mole Show French Tour flyers. The rich miscellaneous press include reproductions of the following rare documents: "No Longer Resident" from Sounds, September 1978; "Meet The Residents" from Melody Maker, November 1978; "Meet The Latest New Wave Cult Figure" on Snakefinger from NME, August 1978; "The Residents" from Sounds, November 1978; "Spot The Resident" from Sounds, March 1979; "Residents Leave Home" from NME, November 1979; "Residents Referendum" from NME, October 1979; "An Unprecedented Recording" from Beat Magazine; "Mystery Of Residents' Eskimo Revealed" from Boulevard Magazine; "Diskomo" from BAM Magazine; three "Commercial Album" reviews from 1981; "The Residents: Underground Uprising" from Contemporary Keyboard, December 1981; "Mark Of The Mole" review from Trouser Press, January 1982; "Residents On The Rampage" from March 1979; three "Fred Frith Gravity" reviews from 1981; a Residents Commercial Album comix; a Ralph Records Night flyer. You can see from the pictures that these are real art editions and original Ralph / Residents ephemera. Have you ever dreamed about owning a piece of the Moleshow? or an original Vileness Facts footage? or a part of the Residents costumes??? Here is your once-in-a-lifetime chance. Rare beyond the myth!
