Description
Here is an original pressing of the fantastic Christian Psych monster LP by The Search Party titled "Montgomery Chapel". It came out in 1970 on Century Records out of Sacramento, Calif. This is a super rare psych LP, second only to Fraction in terms of its quality and rarity. (Only 200 or so were pressed). As Ken Scott describes it, it has "A real trippy San Francisco sound, from powerhouse fuzz explosions like 'You And I' and 'The News Is You' to more delicate-fashioned haunting acoustic ballads. Alternating male and female leads with lots of piercing organ that gives eerie qualities to wispy tracks like the mesmerizing 'When He Calls'.The album's centerpiece would have to be the 9 minute 'So Many Things Have Got Me Down'-grade A blow-your-mind Doors-ish psychedelia that builds to a frenzied climax." This is an awsome LP! The songs are: Speak To Me, Renee Child, Melayna, When He Calls, So Many Things Have Got Me Down, You And I, All But This, Poem By George Hall, The Decidedly Short Epic Of Mr. Alvira, The News Is You. The cover is M-, the vinyl is VG at times and VG+ at others. There are scratces which are most noticable through the second & third songs on both sides. It is pretty clean after that.
