Description

I have owned this original Smiths LP from new, having bought it when it was first released in UK in 1984. It has been barely played.
It is the version that has "Printed and made in Great Britain by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd" in small black centred lettering on the rear of the gatefold cover.

  • The front side of the outer gatefold cover is in good condition and not damaged, and has the original blue track and price sticker still on it.  There is some slight rubbing and wear along the top and bottom edges.
  • The back side of the outer gatefold cover is also in overall good condition although there is a small 'ding' type impression (that has pressed the card down a couple of millimetres) on the top right hand corner near the spine edge.  There is also some slight rubbing and wear along the top and bottom edges.
  • The inner sides of the gatefold, both left and right, are in good condition with no damage and no signs of rubbing along any edges.

The inner sleeve is printed on both sides with the song lyrics.  It is in good condition apart from the lower edge where there is a small 'rub mark' of about 2" which I think must have been caused by the weight of the disc pressing down gently upon  that edge since 1984 (It has been stored upright in a special LP holder with my other Smiths albums).
The 12" disc itself is in good condition.  The Label Code is LC5661. The extra words "The Impotence of Ernest" are etched onto the matrix on the A side in addition to the etched code "Rough 76 A" with stamped "A-84-11" ; and the extra words "IAN [EIRE]" are etched onto the matrix on the B side in addition to the etched code "Rough 76 B" and stamped "A-84-11".

I have taken the pictures today using my scanner, and they are the exact item that I am selling.  If you would like any better pictures of a specific are of the item, please let me know.
I am happy for collections in person,  and will always combine postage.  
nb:  As 12" records and LPs are lightweight but bulky to post in UK under current Royal Mail sizing/pricing, and also need wrapping carefully and properly, as well as having tracking/signed for; this is all reflected in the postage cost for this item.
