THE SONS OF FRED – Baby What Do You Want Me To Do?
ORIG Parlophone 45 / R 5415 (UK, Mono, 1966)
Wow, what a storming tune this is. Very happy to present for the first time on eBay in a good long while, this classic beat/mod stomper from that seminal year of 1966 in its original and very rare UK commercial release. For those that don’t know this, it HAS TO BE one of THE greatest floor tunes of the 1960s – from the moment it kicks in, it never lets up – sheer pounding brilliance with a superb guitar break.
The labels are just fine – a touch of spindle evidence but not even moderate. NO writing, stickers, residue, tears or other damage. Original centre still intact, all print bright and legible. ‘Sold In The UK’ text, as issued.
The vinyl shows some light marks to both sides – NOT deep, none feelable and NOT ugly or intrusive. NO effect on the play IT MUST BE SAID. Maintains a good shine with NO embedded dirt, no nasty scratches and no dulling / groove wear. Visually checks in at around VG+ (Very Good Plus) but plays much better than that.
IT HAS BEEN CAREFULLY LISTENED TO and happy to report it sounds very sweet indeed. Nice quiet run-ins lead in to the music with NO snap, crackle or pop, NO clicks hiss or distortion. Play grade exceeds the visual one at a minimum EX (Excellent) possibly higher. NO SURFACE NOISE! (guaranteed).
Presented in correct company sleeve.
What more to be said? One of the greatest versions of this song, ever, anywhere!
