This is an original USA first pressing of the third LP by THE VELVET UNDERGROUND entitled THE VELVET UNDERGROUND.This was the first LP they made after insanely sacking the insane JOHN CALE and it is an absolute corker of an LP. Also known as the quiet album the music was much more easily accessible than either of the two brilliant LP`s that came before it.
The sleeve is in the paste back none gate fold style,and made from heavy gauge thick card stock typically used in the USA in the 60`s and 70`s . These were never laminated so prone to splits and cracks . This one here is one of the better ones you will find and had obviously been very well cared for over the last coming up to 49 years. Just some slight corner dings and ever so slight damage to the front of the sleeve (bottom Centre). The sleeve has no ring ware anywhere on it at all,that suggests that the record has been stored properly on the outside of the sleeve . The spine has a few light cracks in it but they all do (it is the nature of these USA poster style paste back sleeves) but all the writing is perfectly intakt and can be read clearly (double click the pictures). The original inner sleeve is present and in EXCELLENT condition. The sleeve is in EXCELLENT MINUS condition.
The label on side 1 has about 6 or 7 spindle marks and the lovely blue and gold of the MGM label is still bright and vibrant. The vinyl still has that new look shimmer when tilted into the light and just like on every record you are ever likely to own there are a few exceptionally light hair lines but nothing that comes through on the play back. Side two is in equally as great condition.There are very very light hair line when you search for them under a bright spot light but under normal room light the record looks new. It plays fantastically all the way with a very deep rich sound with no slips or hissing and no jumps or sticking.I am happy to grade the vinyl as EXCELLENT MINUS. A fantastic album beautifully made and in fantastic condition.

All my records are housed in Mobile Fidelity Mastering Sleeves. This prevents further paper scuffs marking the vinyl when removing the record from the original inner sleeve and prolongs the condition of the original inner sleeve .
