Description
This is THE VELVET UNDERGROUND & NICO on VERVE RECORDS V-5008 MONO, pressed in 1967. Banana Cover design made by Andy Warhol. The banana can be peeled to reveal the flesh covered banana underneath. The rear of the jacket features a large black sticker that covers up an image that was part of a potential lawsuit. They only used these black stickers on early pressings that were already pressed which means this is one of the earliest pressings. The rest if them had the image airbrushed away.
Vinyl side 1 is VG, very clean & shiny with some light surface marks, hairlines, & a couple small scuffs. Song 2 has 2 very small scratches that look like eye lashes. I thought they were eyelashes initially. They each cause a quick tick. If it weren't for those 2 very small
Scratches it would easily be VG+. Cindy side 2 is VG+ with some light surface marks & some small light hairlines. Very clean & shiny. Original Blue & Silver labels are very nice with just a few very light spindle marks. Jacket is VG+ with some light shelf wear & light corner scuffs. Top right rear seam has a 4" split as pictured. The banana has some very slight wear as pictured. The top of the banana has a small piece missing which barely reveals the pink or "flesh" colored underneath banana. Comes in original Verve inner sleeve as pictured.
