THE VELVET UNDERGROUND & NICO Self Titled VERVE LP MONO~V-5008

This is a USA auction only.  If you are outside the USA and would like to bid, contact me before bidding.  Otherwise, I will cancel your bid.

This auction is for the self-titled LP “The Velvet Underground & Nico”.  It is on the Verve label with the code V-5008.  I believe that this is the MONO version.  Also, looking at other auctions, I believe that this is the first press.  If I am wrong, please send me a message and I will update this listing.  I’ve included many pictures.

I did not listen to most this album.  I spot played the LP.  The vinyl looks clean with a few surface marks that appear to be from taking the record in and out of the sleeve.  The parts that I listened to sounded good with some minor background noise in some of the passages.

The jacket has some ring wear and shelf wear.  The banana is still intact.  It has been peeled slightly at the top.  There is a small tear about two inches down on the banana.  See picture.  There is a split on the top.  See picture.  Otherwise, the jacket is in decent shape, but not mint.

I am not a collector. I’m just an old guy with a bunch of records.  I know that it is hard to buy records online as condition varies.  I try to accurately describe the records.  Sometimes I make mistakes.  If you are not completely happy with your purchase, please contact me and give me a chance to rectify the situation.

I know that some LPs are more valuable by the label, pressing, etc. If you would like more information, send me your email address and I can send more information and/or detailed pictures.

SHIPPING/HANDLING RATE: This rate includes the postage, delivery confirmation, cost of the cardboard mailer, and miscellaneous expenses associated with the sale. In most cases, these charges are approximately the stated s/h rate. In many instances, these expenses exceed the s/h rate. The album will ship in a cardboard mailer. I ship with delivery confirmation. The seller’s responsibility ends when the item has been shipped. Items are shipped via media mail. If you desire upgraded shipping, please ask before the auction ends.

In my original description, I stated that I thought that this was the first press.  I did not receive any feedback telling me different.  I am not an expert so I cannot be sure.  I've included enough pictures for the buyer to make an informed purchase.  Please let me know if I can provide any other details.

Next, I cut and pasted "I did not listen to most this album." from another auction.  This should say "I did not listen to this album."

Lastly, I have only listed media mail as a shipping option.  Let me know if you would like me to ship this faster and I will adjust the cost when I generate the invoice.

I did some more research.  I believe that this version 3 with the torso air brushed out.  Again, I am not an expert.  I'm just trying to provide accurate information.  If anybody out there can tell me exactly which version I have, I would appreciate it.  Otherwise, the pictures give the best description.
