Description
Very nice copy of the rare original 1939 pressing of the Wizard of Oz soundtrack, on Decca 4-78rpm album 74. Features the original release of Over the Rainbow, which is a valuable collectors item by itself, but here you have it plus the whole album! Features most of the songs from the famed MGM movie, sung by Judy Garland and the rest of the cast. It even features the song The Jitterbug, which was filmed but cut out of the movie in the end. A legendary recording, and here in its very original version. All four discs are in great playing condition and sound wonderful. The Over the Rainbow disc, naturally, has the most wear, with a few more marks and scuffs, but it doesn’t play badly at all. Really clear and clean. Only a touch of background noise, but really a good copy. The other discs have less wear and are very shiny with only a few light scuffs. The cover has a torn spine at the top hinge, which has been taped (see photo), though it isnt totally torn off. Just very loose. You’ll have to be careful with it. Still the spine is fully readable with nothing missing or worn away. Really a cool looking spine and cover in general. Some edge and corner wear all around, and a name written in red near the top right. Still quite nicely intact and striking. Overall a very nice copy, and very rare.
