Released in 1965 This is the superb debut R&B album from THEM featuring a young Van Morrison on vocals and the album is packed from start to finish with great tracks six of the fourteen written by Van, including the classic hit GLORIA. In fact when you listen to this album you have to say that every track on this album is superb. Visually this album looks excellent, There are no scratches etc just some light hair lines and audibly it plays through very well with a rich sound.
Now as this album has been well played as can be seen by the spindle hole I will grade it as an overall VERY GOOD + this really is a respectable playing copy with just the odd light touch of background noise to be heard very occasionally.
Complete list of tracks on this debut album are as follows. MYSTIC EYES - IF YOU AND I COULD BE AS TWO - LITTLE GIRL - JUST A LITTLE BIT - I GAVE MY LOVE A DIAMOND - GLORIA - YOU JUST CANT WIN - GO ON HOME BABY - DON'T LOOK BACK - I LIKE IT LIKE THAT - I'M GONNA DRESS IN BLACK - BRIGHT LIGHTS BIG CITY - MY LITTLE BABY - ROUTE 66.
The VINYL, The Vinyl visually and audibly is in very good playing condition. Visually there are several surface marks but they do not cause any major problems and I have just played this through with some volume and I'm pleased to say it plays through very well, with just some background noise to be heard occasionally. Absolutely no sticks or skips but there are the occasional pop to be heard every now and then , When I just played this LP through and this really is a nice playing and very enjoyable album .
The SLEEVE, The James Upton printed front laminated single sleeve is free from any unwanted stickers or writing but has yellowed somewhat on the back. The spine has lost some of its text, but overall it still looks very presentable.
The LABELS, The red unboxed first issue DECCA label on side one is clean, but the label on side two has an ink mark above the DECCA logo as can be seen in my pictures.
The Inner, The poly lined inner is clean with no unwanted writing but has a small tear.
I try to be accurate in my grading as I know what its like to buy miss graded items but won't insult you by writing song lyrics etc
