Description

As follows:
Decca LK 4700.
Them - (The Angry Young) Them.
Original UK Decca Unboxed Mono Press, 1965.
Matrix Numbers ARL-6819-4A / ARL-6820-3A.
Fantastic Debut from Them, featuring Van Morrison; which in my opinion is as good or better than the first two Rolling Stones LPs. The LP is notoriously difficult to obtain in it's original pressing.
I have recently acquired a second copy of this LP, which plays superbly, but has a dish, and a slightly better sleeve; so I am keeping the dished copy, and letting this one go. I bought this copy from a Record Fair in Portsmouth over 15 Years Ago.  I am offering it for sale for less than price I paid for it, many years ago.
I have played this LP many times and cared for it, and always enjoyed the acoustics, despite the background noises and minor distortion.
I bought this as VG, but I am trying to give an honest appraisal of the actual sound of the LP below:
Condition Vinyl:  G+/VG
Fully Play Tested, and a decent playable copy, but is has been well played, and enjoyed over the years.
Side 1 has surface marks and some harsh looking (but light) scuffs; which causes a lot of minor distortion, but it plays all the way through with crackle and some light clicks and pops, especially during Tracks 3 to 6.
A series of light pops and ticks for the latter part of 'Just a Little Bit' and some consecutive ticks through 'I Gave My  Love A Diamond', which bridges into the first half of Track 5 (Gloria). Some pops are audible of 'You Just Cant Win'.
Side 2 has a few light pops during 'Go On Home Baby' and a series of clicks through 'Don't Look Back'.  Tracks 3 and 4 play well, with a few pops here and there. A series of pops for about 15 seconds through 'Bright Lights'. A series of clicks during 'My Little Baby' but does not spoil the music. The last track (Route 66) plays really well, nice clear audio, with minimal background noise.
Condition Sleeve: G+
The sleeve has a name and address annotation on reverse, some minor ink staining, and some tape residue to opening edge.  Some creasing and laminate bubbling to front, and yellowing to rear. Areas of wear on the sleeve have been photographed.
There are name annotations to the labels, in ink (see photos).
