'ITS THE VINYL COUNTDOWN'

Welcome to 'Its the vinyl countdown' music auctions. Here you will find some of the most incredible rare records and music memorabilia for your collection. We pride ourselves on auctioning only the highest grade records and items, you will not see anything listed here below EX+ condition, unles the item is extremely rare. You will not see worn covers, warped records or scratched records. We simply do not bother with them.

We list in many cases, 'Archived' & 'mint' condition items, we are able to source from private collections all over the UK. So we hope you can be put at ease that what you are bidding on is of the highest quality.

We play through most of the records, unless the item is clearly mint, or sealed..in which case we don't play them, thus maintaining their 'unplayed' status!  Obviously with some of these rare items there will be the odd 'anomoly' along the way , the odd little static pop or lead in 'sizzle' for a split second.. nothing is perfect we find! all systems differ, but we aim to describe these as accurately as possible for you.... PLEASE ENJOY THIS ITEM YOU ARE NOW LOOKING AT..

THIN LIZZY

'VAGABONDS OF THE WESTERN WORLD'

3W  3W  MATRIX   - VERY RARE 1973 1st Earliest Pressing

THIS IS A STUNNING COPY, THE VINYL PLAYS INCREDIBLE, CLEAN AND HUGE!

Released   1973

Label        DECCA SKL 5170 STEREO

Matrix      ZAL-12520.P-3W   Stamper:  A D    K

                 ZAL-12521.P-3W   Stamper:  2 1      D U

THE VINYL     EX+   PLAYS INCREDIBLE CLEAN

YES, As you can see, this vinyl is the EARLIEST 1st UK pressing from 1973 - THE RICH HEAVYWEIGHT VINYL IS IN STUNNING CONDITION AND SOUNDS JUST INCREDIBLE.

This first pressing is a superb vinyl which has retained its amazing glossy sheen and finish. There is no dulling anywhere and overall it is in incredible condition for an LP of this age. The edges are silky smooth, typical of these vintage pressings. We are seing fewer and fewer copies of this LP, so rarely do we see a copy at all, let alone like this.

sOME VERY FEINT SPIDER LINES AND SOME LIGHT SPINDLE 'SHINE'

As we placed the stylus on the vinyl we heard barely a hint of lead in static as the vinyl explodes into the rich huge sound of this classic LP..the sound is quite simply jaw dropping! WE heard one 'pop' on 'Little Girl in Bloom' and that was it

IT PLAYS PRETY MUCH LIKE NEW!!

IT REMAINS IN ASTONISHING 'SONIC' CONDITION. WE HAVE CERTAINLY NEVER HEARD A BETTER 'FIRST PRESS' VINYL THAN THIS IN 30 YEARS.

Most copies we see are later thinner vinyl pressings from the mid to late 70s, and they will have a 5W matrix.. these 'heavy pressings' are impossible to find in this condition.

THE LABELS   MINT-  FLAT MATT 1st issue BLUE 'BOXED LOGO' LABELS

THE SLEEVE     EX/EX+ SUPER CLEAN, NON EXISTENT SPINE!

Correct  UK  1973 first edition  FLAT MATT  FINISH SLEEVE  first issued earliest sleeve with 'small square' spine- manufactured By 'Robert Stace' - This is no exception to other similar first sleeves, the titles are on the edge of the sleeve, as the spine is so small..this one is a square spine that has virtually no squahs! super rare to see!

As we all know, this particular sleeve is just impossible to find in any condition these days..most copies suffer terrible ring wear on the back top and front bottom in particular..well stand aside!!!! this sleeve has none!

The edges are all super clean with some light traces of rub, and all colours and inks remain in outstanding condition. This sleeve which is so hard to preserve without wear has clearly been stored away for decades!

No powdery white ringwear - some light ring press in a few spots only.

The edges have some light spots of rub only in a few tiny places- which is rare to see... and a few little dinks and scuffs on the open edge. The open edge has one thumb crease which has 'arced' into a white spot of around 1" half way down the sleeve opening

The corners have some very light tip rub

The spine edge shows a few light tiny 'white' spider lines and some very feint tip rub and thats about it.

Some tiny incidental spider lines over the edges, and some very fine crease lines in a few spots visible under the light.

The back sleeve is simply incredible..one could argue the feintest feintest ring press, and one little corner crease- but honestly this is slight!..we have no hesitation in saying this is as good as it gets..

So, to find the 'square spine' sleeve this 'black' without that dreaded ring wear is just so rare. So all things considered, we feel this is a beauty, and it is so hard to find one anywhere near as good..certainly not better..

A very very good solid sleeve...Not MINT, no, but as good as we are realistically going to find.

LYRIC SHEET:  MINT-    Yes here and Superb condition, some very very light mottling spots only.

THE INNER SLEEVE   EX+

Original  printed DECCA poly lined paper inner..immaculate no wear or damage
