THIRD EAR BAND - ELEMENTS

Members came from The Giant Sun Trolley and The People Band to create an improvised music drawing on Eastern raga forms, European folk, experimental and medieval influences. They recorded their first session in 1968 for Ron Geesin which was released under the pseudonym of The National-Balkan Ensemble on one side of a Standard Music Library disc. Their first actual album, Alchemy, was released on the EMI Harvest label in 1969, (featuring John Peel playing jaw harp on one track), followed by Air, Earth, Fire, Water (aka Elements) in 1970. They recorded two soundtracks, the first in 1970 for an animated film by Herbert Fuchs of Abelard and Heloise (which first saw release as part of Luca Ferrari's Necromancers of the Drifting West Sonic Book in 1997) and then in 1971 for Roman Polanski's film of Macbeth. After various later incarnations and albums they finally disbanded in 1993 owing to leader and percussionist Glen Sweeney's ongoing health problems. This is up there with the very best progbands of the time ... PURE GOLD!! They also opened for the free Hyde Park concert of the Rolling Stones in 1969.

Sleeve: VG+. Fully laminated back and front gatefold cover. A couple of creases and medium storage wear to the spine and bottom edge. Nevertheless I have seen them far worse than this and this is a nice presentable sleeve without any writing or smudging. A Garrod and Lofthouse Ltd. press.

Vinyl:  VG++ to EX. A lovely vinyl with only light sleeve retraction wispy hairlines only visible under a very bright light.  I have played this through all the way and I am glad to report that the audio is stunning throughout. Very unusual music, even at the time when experimentation was at an all time high!! Of course, NO skips, NO jumps, NO ticks.

LABELS: EX.

INNER SLEEVE: This has the original inner Harvest advertising sleeve, an elusive item in its own right these days with pictures of other collectible albums of the time such as "Forest", "Bakerloo", "Panama Limited Jug band" etc. It has one side seamsplit.

***This is a unique prime investment opportunity!!! Finding this album in any condition at all is nearly impossible!!! This is  a great and seriously collectable super album!!  You will buy into a piece of  prog history.***

Important : International postage will be registered and insured if over GBP 45.00.  These fees in England have gone up significantly last May. Please wait for my invoice before paying. Postage will be according to Royal Mail rates. Postage is NOT a money spinning exercise for me.

Though there are rarely ever any problems with my items, I always try my very best to describe everything exactly!  PLEASE REMEMBER to contact me FIRST,  if you have any problems at all, before you leave feedback and star ratings, so I get a chance to turn any negative experience into a positive one!  I can always happily sort anything out for you, if you let me know you have a problem!  This way no one has to leave Negative/Neutral feedback - and we both walk away happy! Similarly with the amount of stars, anything less than a full 5 * rating is effectively detrimental to a seller's rating as lower ratings will incur higher Final Value Fees  and lower priority in the bidlists eventually making it unattractive to list items on Ebay at all. I know of at least one major previous Ebay seller who has decided not to list via Ebay again. Please do NOT bid if you cannot give me at least 1 chance to sort everything out to your FULL satisfaction in the unlikely event of a problem.  Thanks again!!
