Description
This spoken word 4LP set was produced by Murray Hill Records. It was written by Lewis Carroll and read and sung by Cyril Richard.
The original music was by Alec Wilder and performed by the New York Windwood Quintet in July of 1964.
Description: The outer cardboard box exhibits wear especially along the sides. However, none of the corners are split, and this
outer box is structurally strong and sound. It appears that the sides were rubbed with an abrasive cloth which left the sides clean
but speckled. There are also a few light stains on the lower right inside box. The bottom of the box has some rusting?The records
are in MINT condition. The facsimile book is Near Mint with some very light foxing on the paper's edges. Still very sound and very
collectible.
"Seven years passed between the publication of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass.By 1872,when through the Looking-Glass was published,Alice Pleasance Liddell was seventeen, very much a young lady and no longer the elfin, ingenuous child whose companionship had so won the heart of Lewis Carroll and inspired the Alice books. Indeed, Carroll makes this abundantly clear in the rather melancholy poem at the beginning of Through the Looking-Glass. But if the loss of youthful enthusiasm of Alice Liddell and her sisters Lorina and Edith weighed heavily on his heart, Alice's adventures in Through the Looking-Glass do not refelct it. This sequel is every bit as charming as Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and a great deal more nonsensical. Of course, to refer to Carroll's characters, descriptions and dialogues as "nonsense" is not strictly accurate. For with his logic and order, Carroll's zaniest situations contain a great deal of sense."
