Original US Mosaic [MR4-106] 4-LP boxed set: The Complete Blue Note Recordings of The Tina Brooks Quintets

Limited Edition #0126 of 7500

This fine set covers highly collectable material on which tenorman Brooks was the leader including ~ Back To The Tracks ~ True Blue ~ Minor Move ~, plus the previously unreleased (as of the date of this set) March 2, 1961 session (finally issued as ~The Waiting Game~). Plus one track, "Street Swinger", recorded with Jackie McLean.

The various sidemen on these sessions include: Lee Morgan. Sonny Clark, Art Blakey, Johnny Coles, Kenny Drew, Art Taylor, Paul Chambers, Wilbur Ware, Philly Joe Jones, Blue Mitchell, others.

As usual, the booklet is supreme w/ an interesting bio, original liner notes and a Complete Discography.

Vinyl grading: M(-); flawless vinyl

Cover grading: EX+; very nice, except for a corner creasing bottom righthand

Note: I’ll be separating the LPs and reinforcing the corners of the mailer, so mailing charges will reflect the extra weight.
