Description

Scarce late sixties northern soul 45 two-sider featuring The T.N.J.’s on the TRENTON label out of Trenton, New Jersey.  Titles are “SHE’S NOT READY” and “I DIDN’T KNOW.”

The T.N.J.’s were a soul vocal trio featuring James “Big Jim” Gist, Elijah “E.J.” Jones, and Greg Jamerson.  Their backing band, originally known as the Music Machine, later evolved into INSTANT FUNK which scored big in the seventies.

This is a promotional copy with multi-colour label and black print.  Catalog number is Newark 228.

Guaranteed to be authentic and original  I do not sell bootlegs or reissues.

Condition is a very strong VG++.  Labels are clean and pristine.  The gloss is brilliant and full.  There are a couple very slight scuffs that do not affect the playing, nothing serious.  Overall it is a beautiful disc, a very fine copy for the serious collector.  I have provided sound clips from this actual record so that you can hear the quality of both sides.

As with all my records, I offer a guarantee of satisfaction, if not happy simply return it in same condition for a full refund plus one-way postage.

On Sep-09-06 at 14:18:03 PDT, seller added the following information:

Important note:  It was brought to my attention that the sound file contains several audible tics on both sides of the record.  I went back and listened to the record again, and after doing so, I agree that with the audible tics (four on each side), a grade of VG+ is more accurate.  After the first 25 to 30 seconds of each side, the record plays clean with no more tics, with very strong fidelity.  Without the tics, a grade of VG++ would be well supported.  If this causes any bidders to retract their bids, I would have no problem with that.  I apologize for any confusion.
