"TOM INTONDI - City Dancer - 1976 - PRIVATE PRESS - MEGA-RARE U.S. FOLK-SSW ALBUM": Hey everyone. I decided to drop the price to get the bidding started. It's a phenomenal album. If it doesn't sell this time around I will definately hang on to it and I doubt that you will ever see another copy up for auction. Just saying... I could not find much information about this extremely rare album and do not know if it is in the original cover. All accounts that I've seen say that the cover is plain white with the artistis name printed in the corner. This description accurately fits the album cover I have, though the name is hand written not printed (see picture). Also, the original photocopied drawing that came in the album has been taped to the cover and has been torn. Other than that the cover is in okay condition with one bent corner, a seam split corner and some light ringwear on the back. This should not matter to anyone however because the couple of reviews I've read on Japanese sites essentialy say that the cover is totally lame but the record inside is a phenomenal custom folk gem. A lyric sheet is also included. The vinyl itself is in excellent condition with only a couple of very light paper scuffs that do not affect play or sound quality. You are bidding on "City Dancer" the highly sought-after, privately pressed, 1976 debut release of singer songwriter Tom Intondi. This album has been described as a masterpiece of the Folk/SSW gernes and is nearly imposible to find in any condition. Intondi was a Greenwich Village artist and his music reflects the metropolitan art scene from which he came. Original and sophisticated songwriting along with great guitar work, amazing vocal melodies and provocative lyrics are the order of the day. Songs range from simple folk to more progressive jazzy/bluesy compositions. Despite minimalist production featuring only accoustic guitars, a bass and vocals have been described as having a much "thicker", "deeper" or "more full" sound than one would expect. This extremely rare album is truly a benchmark setting work of art for its genre and a must have for collectors of the Folk and SSW styles.
