Description

You are looking at a limited edition 45rpm 10” EP of ‘Goin Out West’/ ‘A Little Rain’/ ‘The Ocean Doesn’t WantMe’/ ‘Back in the Good Old World (Gypsy)’ by Tom waits issued on the Island label circa 1992. I believe it was played before it came into my hands – it was owned by a very exacting and careful collector I know before I acquired it in 2003. I’ve played it once that I can recall, twice maybe. The vinyl is clean and shiny and unmarked and the record itself is housed in a white shiny-paper high quality inner sleeve (as issued with this release) without a die-cut centre hole. There is very minor discoloration in small areas on the lighter-coloured areas of the front of the sleeve, otherwise it’s beautiful. The spine has proper title lettering etc, so it makes for a nice little ‘almost mini LP’.

Immediately after acquiring the EP I sheathed it in a heavy duty clear PVC outer sleeve. The disc has been stored carefully ever since in my smoke-free home. It was shrinkwrapped, but due to the tautness of the wrap and the way the record had been sheathed at production by some idiot machine with no care at the record plant, there is a 1cm break in the spine.

The number on the sleeve is 0147 – as here are four digits in the limitation numbering, so I’m assuming there are a maximum of 9999 of these, but I suspect there may be fewer than 5000. I’m not a huge Waits fan, so I don’t know the details here, though I do love ‘Bone Machine’, the album 3 of the 4 tracks here are taken from. The Fourth track is from the soundtrack of ‘Night on Earth’.

I have seen this record on sale online in various venues and it seems to go for silly money, but I’m trying to offer it for a reasonable price here.

I would grade this record as very fine -Near Mint (I reserve Mint grading for vinyl only for records that are still sealed in shrinkwrap I’d grade the sleeve as Excellent plus to very fine/near mint. The record will be supplied in the PVC outer sleeve. Packaging will be a professional cruciform cardboard mailer source from Covers33, the record collecting accessories dealer all the pros use.

Please note that I do not sell outside the UK under any circumstances, so please don’t waste your time or mine by asking. Many thanks!
