Description
Owned by myself from new. I personally have never played the record as it was given to my family as we are related to Gary. I was only 5 at the time this was released and given to my mum (Gary's Auntie) back in the day.
I know very little about this record, but have checked the history from others and can confirm the following:
12" limited edition blue vinyl LP by Tubeway Army. Extremely rare and collectible, this is the 1st pressing, issued by Beggar’s Banquet in 1978 with the catalogue number BEGA 4.
History - This album first appeared as an initial limited-edition run of 5,000 (known unofficially as the Blue Album due to its coloured vinyl and cover) and although it soon sold out, it did not chart. When reissued in mid-1979, following the success of the follow-up album Replicas, a more commonly-known edition with cover art of a stylised Numan portrait was introduced. The re-release made number 14 in the UK album charts.
Identifiers - This copy has the requisite marks as expected, namely -
Matrix / Runout - Side A - Etched - BEGA+4+A2
Matrix / Runout - Side B - Etched - BEGA+4+B2
Vinyl Condition - Excellent unplayed condition.
Sleeve Condition - Good+ - Original gatefold sleeve, only storage marks where my mum kept with all her other records so the corners have some wear and creasing (see photos)
The track listing is …
A1 - Listen To The Sirens
A2 - My Shadow In Vain
A3 - The Life Machine
A4 - Friends
A5 - Something's In The House
A6 - Every Day I Die
B1 - Steel And You
