Description
Available here is a 12" limited edition blue vinyl LP by Tubeway Army. Rather rare and collectible, this is the 1st pressing, issued by Beggar’s Banquet in 1978 with the catalogue number BEGA 4.
History - This album first appeared as an initial limited-edition run of 5,000 (known unofficially as the Blue Album due to its coloured vinyl and cover) and although it soon sold out, it did not chart. When reissued in mid-1979, following the success of the follow-up album Replicas, a more commonly-known edition with cover art of a stylised Numan portrait was introduced. The re-release made number 14 in the UK album charts.
Identifiers - This copy has the requisite marks as expected, namely -
Matrix / Runout - Side A - Etched - BEGA+4+A2 – BOR
Matrix / Runout - Side B - Etched - BEGA+4+B2
Vinyl Condition - Very Good - Visually the record only just about makes the grade as there is a fair smattering of light surface marks. However, any visual shortcoming is balanced out by a surprisingly bright and clear sound and excellent production values. Certainly no jumping or sticking but expect to hear a few clicks, while background crackle/noise is present but effectively rendered negligible behind Numan’s surprisingly punchy guitar driven sound.
Sleeve Condition - Good+ - Original gatefold sleeve, with a few faults. Stain right hand side of the front cover penetrating through to the inside, with additional wear/rubbing around the edges, particularly along the spine. One additional front panel depression mark and a small nick from the rear panel top outer corner. Plain white inner sleeve, with a small split and probably as issued.

It is not my intention to profit from postage. If possible I use good clean recyclable material but I also buy bubble wrap, brown paper, packing tape and glue and all items are well wrapped and protected before posting. Items are also weighed and postage calculated before I list at auction and a small percentage of the charge does go towards packing costs. See About Me for further general despatch information.
