Taylor Swift - 1989 (Non-RSD Variation #3982/4750) - Sealed Limited Edition
Condition: Sealed - Mint Condition

COMMENTS:   Very nice high grade example of this extremely rare limited edition pressing of Taylor Swift's best album (IMO of course)!  This also just happens to be an extremely rare variation of the original RSD pressing that to the best of my knowledge has never sold publicly before.  

This album was part of the same pressing as the RSD versions and therefore is identical aside from two noteworthy exceptions: 

  • The hype sticker on the front is different (no mention of Record Store Day, and the catalog number at the bottom of the sticker has "ST 02" appended to it (BMRBD0500L ST02)
  • The hand numbering on the back is /4750 rather than /3750 (this variation would then comprise numbers 3751/4750 through 4750/4750).  
While it is safe to assume that all 1000 of these numbers exist, only a handful of copies have surfaced publicly, all of them coming from executives at Big Machine Records who received an allotment as comps upon initial release.  So...where are the rest of them?  The prevailing theory is that this run was initially intended for sale and distribution via the Taylor Swift online store to coincide with the Cyber Monday 2018 sale of 250 signed copies...and yet for some reason that sale never took place.  For all we know the rest of them could just be lost in a warehouse somewhere...but it's extremely unlikely they will be surfacing again anytime soon.
