Up for auction...

The Aggregation, Mind Odyssey, lhi S-12008

Yes, I do have to say something about this record!  Probably the rarest I have ever owned!  The entire package is an awesome condition coupled with the rarity of it...this is also a rare time I will be creating a reserve.  I have also made it a private auction due to the foreseen demand on it.

A little about the history of this record and band before the condition...

"The LP is a somewhat obscure cult item today, and not many listeners are likely to realize how immediate, and ironic, the band's use of the concept is. A 5-piece of college graduates, several of which had degrees in music, the Aggregation were one of a small number of rock bands who played regularly at Disneyland. Hit covers of the day were delivered as a diversion for visiting teenagers, but the band also composed original music to work in conjunction with the rides and expositions on offer at Disneyland's "Tomorrowland"...The most remarkable aspect of "Mind Odyssey" is that its' surface is deceptively similar to any number of cheesy concept LPs that appeared in the wake of "Sgt Pepper", yet if you stick around it will open up to reveal layers of elaborate composition and internal logic that surpass all those Beatles imitations, and indeed Sgt Pepper himself. The Charleston/vaudeville track is a telling example -- on the typical post-Pepper album this is a throwaway number made for no other reason than to echo "When I'm 64". When Aggregation does one it makes perfect sense, and even convinces of its need to be there, although it's unlikely to be anyone's favorite track.

Formally trained and mature enough to understand the use of irony and intermusical references, Aggregation uncover a terrific analogy for a psychedelic experience in Disney's "Tomorrowland"..."  by Patrick the Lama taken from http://lysergia_2.tripod.com/LamaReviews/reviews7.htm

After a few attempts of landing a deal, Lee Hazelwood stepped up and hence, Mind Odyssey.

Luckily for me and the soon-to-be-owner, the previous and only owner of the release did NOT do what Aggreagtion and many of the psych/acid rockers of the 60's maybe intended for us to do!  With that said...

Condition:

**Jacket:  The cover art--very Dali-esque--is one of my favorites--all-time.  Gatefold jacket overall in brilliant shape.  The corners are a bit soft.  Along the binding there is a tiny indent next to the title and even smaller series of maybe six creases under that.  Real miniscule and light.  There are a few of these separate on the right side with a few tiny indents.  The back shows a hint of shelf ring wear--very light.  (Can not even see it on the picture.)  Still on the back, there is a small nick/indent along the left side.  There are also a few, maybe five, tiny creases along the edge.  Back to the front, in the top right hand corner, as shown in one of the pix, is the indent stamp of "Not For Sale Promotional Use Only."  Inside, the wear is consistent with the description of the front and back covers.  There is a little more evidence of ring wear, however.

**Vinyl: Absoultely BRILLIANT!!!!  I found a total of three extremely light, barely noticeable (good luck trying to find two of the three!) rubs, absolutely NO affect on the play.  Plays PERFECTLY with absolutely NO background noise.  Brilliant gloss as well.

**Label:  PERFECT!  Not one mark, including any spindle marks.

**Inner Sleeve: Generic white, included.  But has been kept in a VRP type sleeve: paper/plastic.

I would say this is the best copy I have ever seen, but it's the only one!

Bidding starts at ONLY $49.99!

Regarding my items listed on ebaY:

I am neither a dealer nor a "professional!"  I simply love the old stuff!  Old soul, I am.  Anything I have "collected" and list here, I just find someone else may enjoy it more than me.  The same as with my records, I do not "assign" a value: I just describe everything I see as best as I can.  If you have ANY questions about any of my listings, I will do the best that I can to answer them.  (Keep in mind: I may not know the terminology of the specific area of collectibles.  So, no laughing!)  Records, however, is my passion.  Ask away!

Regarding my vinyl:

As I stated above: I am not a professional, but I am honest.  I do not give a specific "condition value" of my records.  I leave that up to the potential buyer.  What I list is ALL of the blemishes/damage I see.  Giving a "value" is subjective; listing the blemishes so YOU can assign a value is definitive.  So, if you have any questions, ASK!  Something new I will be doing: I will break the description down in four ways: Jacket, label, inner sleeve, and of course, vinyl. Please understand, as excellent condition as many of the items I list are in, they are still used!  (Unless, they are sealed.)

Please see my "me" for detailed explanations of just about everything!

Shipping and handling:

$3.90 for most books; $4.80 for a single LP; $3.30 for a single 45; $5.60 for a single 78.  This includes all charges including delivery confirmation, except insurance, sent via media mail.  This is for the continental United States.  Other items (and larger books) will be actually listed.  Please see the item's description.  These are the actual costs of shipping materials and actual fees.  There is no "jacking up" the price for the shipping.  (If anything, the time it takes me to package these items--you'll see!--should be worth another dollar or two!  :)  Which, I will not charge you for my time.)  If you want an item sent priority, overnight, etc., you need to contact me first about the cost before payment, please!

SHIPPING WILL BE COMBINED! (Please see the shipping section of the item description.)

I ship once a week, usually either Saturday or Monday.  Depending on when I receive your payment depends on when I send your item(s) won.

To my international friends:

I will be glad to ship world-wide!  (You can check www.usps.com under the international rates for your country's rate.  I would request if you can not find your rate to please ask if you need assitance before you bid!)  "First class international" is NOT listed as a service I can do online.  However, I will be glad to ship this way.  The general rate for any country for this rate is approximately $15.00.  Please note: insurance is not included with this and I will NOT be responsible for any mishandled item when insurance is not purchased.  There will be an automatic handling fee of $1.50 that I will charge.  I apologize, but this is paperwork that I need to do at the post.  My only suggestion is to file a complaint (yes, I am serious!) to the USPS at 1-800-ASK-USPS (1-800-275-8777) as I have already.  (Confirmation # CO34626234.)  If enough people complain and request this rate to be added, they probably will.

vinyl_musiquarium Policies:

**Payments are highly preferred through PayPal.  I am finding their fees are worth not having to worry about the rash of counterfeit money orders that are turning up.  IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO PAY ANY OTHER WAY THAN PAYPAL YOU NEED TO CONTACT ME FIRST--BEFORE BIDDING!  Any payment other than PayPal will delay the shipping of your item(s) won!

**ALL pictures are of the actual items.  I take them myself.  Therefore, please bare with the quality, which is not the best at times.  If the lighting is off and does not reflect the true colours, I will state so in the item's description.  If it is the yellows and reds, know right off the bat they somtimes bleed or lighten.  For "high-interest" items, I will most likely include more than just the one.  If you need additional pictures, I can take more upon request and send them via email.

**Any questions, ASK!

**If you do not see an artist or title listed, ASK!  I will be keeping a log of "Look out for" requests and will keep in touch with you along with my findings.  It just also may be I have not listed it yet.

**Return policies: If a record is damaged because of my packaging, I will refund the entire amount, including shipping.  However, I can not be responsible for the delivery of the USPS.  (They have been generally terrific, by the way!)

**If you dispute my description of the item for whatever reason (although, I can be human!), please contact me with the exact reason why.  We can discuss the return only after I know the reason why.  No refunds will be issued without the item first being returned at YOUR expense.

**Feedback is obviously not mandatory.  However, it is appreciated.  Please be honest with my service and item.  If you feel a negative is deserved, I would like to speak with you (or at least communicate with you) before it is officially left.  I will attempt to leave feedback immediately after your part of the transaction is over.  In other words, once payment is received and processed, there is no waiting on my part to see what you give me.  That's against the spirit of what feedback is there for.

**For any other information about me and why ebaY for me, please see my "me!"  This includes some artwork I will be presenting and rotating.  Check it out!

**This is and probably always will be a hobby for me!  I enjoy this!  And, no, with the amount of money and more so, time I spend on ebaY, there's not much profit in it for me.  With this in mind: I am not a business.  Please be patient if you are asking a question etc.  I may not get to you immediately.  I'm a one man show.  My counters are always visible.  Feel free to research my items!  And, for goodness sake, have fun!  That's what ebaY was originally set up for!  (Although, not a bad profit if you have some early stock, huh?!?!)

**I am seriously thinking of opening an ebaY store.  Any feedback whatsoever on this topic would greatly be appreciated!
