Description
Just recently I bought a collection of Aussie-pressed Beatles records from a long-term collector who'd specialised in label variations...so if you're a Beatles tragic, it's fascinating stuff...many others of you will wonder what the fuss is about. It's a shame none of them are mint (or even close)...seems as long as he had one copy of each variation he didn't bother upgrading.
Anyway here then, is one of the items from that collection:

TRACKS: "PAPERBACK WRITER" + "WE CAN WORK IT OUT" // "DAY TRIPPER" + "NORWEGIAN WOOD" .
FORMAT: …vinyl 7" EP…
LABEL: PARLOPHONE (distributed here by E.M.I. (Australia) Ltd.) .
CATALOGUE #: GEPO-70044 .
DATE OF RELEASE: 1968 .
PRESSED IN: AUSTRALIA
ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING?: Yes, it is...original matt flipback cover, and black/yellow/white labels with silver lettering...
Has publisher's name (Northern Songs) to the left of the spindle-hole (all later editions did NOT have it there)...also, the catalogue number and the matrix number are to the right of the spindle-hole (on all later editions they are to the left of the hole)...
CONDITION:
COVER: ( EX- )...very nice - has only the barest beginnings of ringwear on the front, plus a couple of creases in the top left corner...but again these are pretty insignificant...
RECORD: ( VG+ )...has virtually ALL of its original shine...looks barely played, but it has a small pressing 'blip' near the end of 'Day Tripper' which causes clicks for 5 or 6 revolutions (would be closer to M- if not for the 'blip')...but the rest of the EP is near immaculate, playing-wise...
LABELS: (Side One: MINT / Side Two: M- )...
