This rarest of covers was issued with 1st (Dick James) - 2nd (Northern Songs) - 3rd (New Parlophone but extra speed indicator - 4th (large indicator only) pressings
Almost impossible to find in this condition - Mr Bean completely legible down in the extreme right hand corner - front panel is fantastic with just a few edge wrinkles but no crescent thumb bends - the opening is sharp - lovely spine with immaculate lettering - unprotected back panel is age toned with just a few handling marks - all corners are reasonably square with just very mild bumps - as you know, almost all of these EJD first editions suffer with disintegrating flipbacks but not this one - they are 100% complete with just a small crease on the lower flip which looks like it was bought this way
I will include the correct disc and inner sleeve FREE with your purchase but it is not an item I would normally sell, due to some playing issues
Here are the specifics, so you know exactly what to expect:
1963 - Mono - 1st pressing PMC 1202 XEX 421-1N / 422-1N 1-GA / 1-GA
A genuine 1st edition displaying the incorrect Dick James Mus. publishing credits As you can tell from the labels,the disc has not been looked after and has numerous lines and scuffs from careless handling However, sound quality is very good with no loud crackle or distortion and very quiet run-ins (better than a lot of examples) Made from thick vinyl,the disc sit flat on the turntable All tracks play much better than expected but here's the downside: Side 1: Mild repetitive clicks through track 3 and a single skip at the end - clicks through tracks 4, 5 & 6 Side 2: A few random pops otherwise no other problems Still regarded as a rare and collectible item in any condition, this is still playable and a good listen More than adequate until you can upgrade to complement the fabulous cover!
Inner sleeve is a genuine 'patents applied for' clear polythene lined first issue in near perfect condition
