Description

An original 1st MONO press of OLDIES on the UK Parlophone label from 1966. Matrix 1G/1G - 1st cut. Note that publishing details are present on the left side of the label - which infers 1st issue. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original Mono G&L cover. We also have an original EMI advertising inner sleeve too. 
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In great condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of very light marks per side - nothing heavy or troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of slight deviations. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Plays pretty clean into all the tricky tracks. A few crackles in one isolated spot per side - i.e. very little. All I could make out, in addition, was a couple of minor ticks in one spot per side. Great value copy.
Cover (Vg) Very well preserved with a lovely flat and shiny front - just one slight crease. The rear seems to have escaped the worst of the ageing process, but there is some evidence down in the bottom sector. Take a look in the photos - just a bit grubby. Edge wear is pretty limited and the spine is intact with just a couple of stress creases. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
