Description

An original Mono 1st press from 1964 on UK Parlophone. Matrix 3N/3N = 1st cut. Note how 1st copies of AHDN will mention 'Parlophone' in the perimeter text and 'recording 1st published'. You can get a wide-body font variant which is the very earliest copy - but this example is genuine 1st from the time of release. The vinyl comes housed in an original G&L Mono cover [what a looker!]. Also included is the original 1966 Emitex advertising inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) A beautifully preserved copy - they don't all look this good! Has seen the lightest use and it shows in the audio. Under close inspection there are a couple of lightest marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Yes - it really is that good. Intros and inbetweens are really nice and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. It sounds fab and certainly allows you to really dig deep into the mix. Faults? Very little really.. I'm struggling to make out more than a few crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side. It plays very clean - consistently. Whether it's the up-tempo numbers or low-key ones you'll be treated to clear and precise 60's audio. A total treat - very impressive.
Cover (Ex+) Pretty much perfect a total one-off...never seen one this good! The front is shiny flat and without creasing or ageing. Then, look at the rear! This is possibly the best preserved rear I have ever witnessed from the mid-sixties. It looks like it was made yesterday - absolutely unbelievable. There's not a whiff of ageing. It lies totally flat and all flipbacks are perfectly preserved [almost unheard of]. Nothing detrimental on the rear from a distance, or up close. Believe the photo! This is no illusion - 'perfectly white'. What I also like on this LP is that there's no edge wear. So, nothing on the edges and the corners are still pointed and the openings aren't worn. The spine is 100% perfect. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. I would say this standard is close to impossible to find. FINAL UPGRADE...no sweat.
Inner (Vg+) Lightly aged - but no splits.
