THE BEATLES - 'PLEASE, PLEASE ME'
This UK STEREO pressing dates from Spring 1963 and carries two different variations of the black & yellow Parlophone label: PCS 3042

The side 1 label has the 2nd variation of this iconic design without the small '33 1/3' indicator or 'Recording First Published' text

The side 2 label has the 3rd yellow & black label design which includes the 'Recording First Published' text

There is a 'Factory Sample' sticker on the side 1 label & an 'MT' purchase tax code in the centre of the side 2 label

Matrix numbers: YEX 94-1 & YEX 95-1

Earliest possible side 2 stamper: 1/P & 1/G

Vinyl weight: 163g

Housed within the earliest/'gold' type front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed stereo cover with photographer Angus McBean's credit positioned in the extreme lower right corner. Complete with poly-lined inner-sleeve

Both are clean with a moderate collection of spindle marks around each centre hole

Visual: VERY GOOD

Both playing surfaces are clean & retain their deep-gloss shine. The only significant blemish in strong daylight is a 2.5cm 'feelable' scratch on track 1 on side 2. Close inspection directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals little more than some harmless wispy paper hairlines and a sparkling rainbow shine

Sound Quality: VERY GOOD

This early disc has received a moderate amount of play but is without any significant deterioration to the sound quality overall. My play-check detected 3 clicks on 'I Saw Her Standing There' and also some on the first half of 'Love Me Do' due to the aforementioned scratch. However, there are no jumps, repeats or any other major audible defects

Cover: GOOD/FAIR

A fairly tired & worn example which has undergone some repair work but is complete & fully intact

Inner-sleeve: VERY GOOD
