Description
An original 1972 Parlophone pressing of Revolver. Matrix 2/2. Please note labels are consistent with a 1972 copy with 'Gramophone' still showing in the perimeter label text. These early 70's tube-cut pressings are made the same way they produced all the sixties output and offer outstanding audio at a fraction of the price. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse cover with two flipbacks. The printers switched to two flipbacks in 1972 and then phased them out entirely in 1973. Also included is the original sepia coloured Emi advertising inner sleeve. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex+) In remarkable condition and has clearly only seen the lightest of use. Under close inspection we could only make out a few of those ultra-light bag removal type marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Interference is very minor. In fact all we could detect was a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments - it really is an outstandingly well preserved copy. The audio is as clean as you could possibly hope for.
Cover (Ex) A beautifully shiny front cover without a hint of creasing or fade. The rear is in great shape too with just light handling wear. All flipbacks are secure and edge wear is very light. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and is one seriously impressive example.
Inner (Ex+) Barely any ageing. No splits or markings.
