Description

An original 1st issue of Revolver on the UK Parlophone label from 1966. Matrix 2/2. Please note that the very 1st pressings [2/1's] have a very specific mix of TNK - this copy is NOT that copy. This particular Lp would have been available during the initial charting phase and is identified by the abbreviated 'Dr.Robert' track on the label. It is said that Lennon requested that the track be referred to as 'DOCTOR' and all future copies, you will notice, follow that format. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original flip-back Garrod & Lofthouse cover. Also includes is a generic company white inner from the time.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In superb shape and has clearly only seen careful light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are practically silent and the audio comes across with superb clarity. I tend to find that Revolver is a particularly difficult title to find playing at a top-level. But I am pleased to report that this example is one of those low-mileage copies that defies the odds. Beautiful clean audio delivered all the way through even in those tricky tracks like 'Yellow Submarine' & 'Eleanor Rigby'. Most certainly one of the best renditions I've witnessed with very little to complain at. I will do my usual catch-all.. expect a few crackles in a couple of isolated spots, and one light tick toward the end of 'Here,There, Everywhere'. But make no mistake about it you'll struggle to even equal the audio output on this copy.
Vinyl (Ex-) In great shape and has clearly been looked after down the years. The first thing to mention is that that iconic front image is very nice and WHITE...no signs of the ageing that you typically find. Yes, there's a couple of minor creases in a couple of spots, but by and large the front is a looker! The same high standard is maintained on the rear too - no issues at all. Edge wear is very light and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. Nice!
Inner (Vg+) Mild ageing. But no splits or markings.
