Description

In this auction:

·       “RUBBER SOUL” by the Beatles

·       This LP is Capitol Records T - 2442.

·       This LP is a MONO (Monaural) Pressing which is designated by the letter “T” that precedes the catalog number on both the cover and the labels.

·       This LP was issued December 8, 1965.

·       This is guaranteed to be a 1st MONO PRESSING, because the 1st pressings omitted “THE BEATLES” on the labels. Only their names were printed. (The 2nd mono pressings inserted “THE BEATLES” between the LP title and the names of the group members.)

·       According to Perry Cox, this Capitol-marked COVER, of cardboard construction with front cover slick overlapping the rear slick, is the correct cover to go with this 1965 pressing. This COVER was issued from Capitol Records’ Scranton pressing plant. This is based on the number “3” printed on the rear cover at lower right.

·       The VINYL has the “?” in the trail-off wax. This is the symbol Capitol Records used to identify vinyl pressed at its Scranton Pressing Plant.

·       THEREFORE, this cover and vinyl are correctly paired (as they were issued) from the same Capitol pressing plant (Scranton).

·       NOTE: Some sellers may intentionally or accidentally switch vinyl and covers in order to create an LP with a higher grade cover and vinyl, but NOT correctly matched to the same pressing plant. I don’t do that. This is the correct cover and vinyl for this pressing/issue.

·       The COVER is graded NEAR MINT and still in its ORIGINAL SHRINK WRAP. (Check the images and you will see how nice this cover is!!) The shrink wrap has “breathe holes”.

·       The VINYL is GRADED NEAR MINT MINUS. The vinyl has lots of gloss and just a few very light surface hairlines/scuffs.

·       This LP comes with its ORIGINAL OLIVE-GREEN CAPITOL RECORDS INNER PAPER SLEEVE (which is the correct sleeve for this Capitol vinyl issue).

For Sure, it’s a NICE COPY of this ORIGINAL BEATLES 1965 1st CAPITOL MONO PRESSING of this LP to add to your vinyl collection!
